"Top Spin 3" for the PS3 is the most competitive, challenging, and fun game I've ever played. It trounces the Madden's. It is so hard to master the game, you'll find yourself playing for hours on career mode, ascending through the ranks, playing a Challenger tournament 32 times before you finally qualify into the actual tournament.

It's also like watching tennis on an HDTV with the HDMI connection. It is so worth the $60 price tag it's not even funny. You become one with the character you're playing, I've played it for so many hours that I can't even watch a tennis match on TV without my brain thinking of what button I'd hit next.

If you have time to play elaborate games then PS3 is better. As a professional gambler I only have a few minutes between capping games and watching so the Wii works better for playing 15 min between halftimes.

I don't believe we will see another console until atleast 2010 and that may be a new xbox. The ps3 should be around for another 2 years minimum as sony has pulled back r&d spending.

By no means do u need a hdtv to watch blu rays but it would be foolish to have a blu ray player w/o hdtv as 90% of the difference between blu ray and dvd is purely visual with the other 10% being menus features and layout.

No point watching them without an HD TV, but yeah you can. The discs are optimized for Blu Ray, it'd be like playing a cassette tape on a brand new car stereo.

Remember the line of HD-DVD's that came out, basically like watching HD programming but on DVD, only Blu-Ray is the leader in the HD Movies genre. HD-DVD's are now defunct. They're just higher quality.

Think High-def DVDs... they look awesome on an HD display, though most people seem to be content with good ol' DVDs.

The improvement isn't nearly as dramatic as DVDs were over VHS, but I love watching old classics remastered in HD. I bought The Shining during the holidays - the opening sequence (helicopter shots following Jack's car) is stunning.

Time for some honesty, PS3 sucks, hell its got like 15 buttons who wants to work that hard when they play a video game, I bought PS3 a year ago and rented call Call of Duty 3 as the graphics were supposed to be great, hell I could barely get the guy to move along, who the fuk needs all these buttons, the original Nintendo got it absolutely correct, you need a shoot button a jump button a select button to change weapons etc and thats it, hell PS3 even has buttons under the remote. I could understand if you could make a living doing this but who the fuk is retarded enough to commit enough time to using all 85 buttons just to play a pointless video game? I like the simple Wii but the receiver is not good enough and when I play Wii tennis and it doesnt pick up my swing and the ball just goes bouncing by me it pisses me off, give me a simple fukin game, we're not all trying to be 18 hour a day pro gaming psychos, some just want to play a fun game for an hour, turn it off and make some losing bets

but you are kinda right. however, if you want to play new videogames, the ps3 is the best, also the best utility for an hdtv due to bluray. i have 360, ps3, and wii. wii is garbage, 360 i dont use, and ps3 i use occasionally for games and daily for blurays.
any movie buff or hdtv owner should have a ps3. if you are into online games, get a 360. if you are a girl or a pussy, get a wii

What's so hard about it, 4 face buttons and some L2/R2 controls. Most games don't even require more than the same 3 or 4 buttons over and over again anyway. Not like you'll be required to hit analog stick forward, O, A, X, l1, L2, R1, R2 throughout the course of a game.

When I play tennis I use one face button at a time, some R2 for power, and just moving around the court. You get used to the controls if you like the game that much.

PS3 for 299 is a great price. You basically get 2 in 1. A game console and Blu Ray Player and you cant even find a blue ray player for $299.

It's my understanding it doesn't even come with the blu-ray and online options, you need to get extra stuff for the 360 to have the same features that the PS3 comes with.

What games specifically can you not go online with for PS3, though?

I can get online playing Madden, Tennis, GTA, pretty much every game I own. Then again, I'm by no means a huge video game buff so I'm unaware of which popular games are out there right now which would make the 360 a better sell for some.
