Circuit City Firesale Begins Tomorrow

I've really come to like you over the last few weeks, we seem to be on the same page quite often.

Then I saw that you were a Duck fan .

What is it with you and Blitty? Two good guys fans of the team that makes me hate life more than anything else in the world.

I grew up loving hockey and going to Kings games. Family had season seats. As soon as Orange County got a team, I became a Ducks fan. This is the only team we got here.

Although LA is not far, it sucks trying to get to downtown in rush hour traffic. Dodger games are the only thing I will make the trip for and an occasional Laker game.

My big problem with the Ducks is that the bulk of their fans are ex-Kings fans that jumped on the bandwagon during the 2003 Stanley Cup run (before that, there just weren't nearly as many Ducks fans), and then of course eventually winning the Stanley Cup was the biggest "fvck you Dave" I've ever had in my entire life. Basically "Hey, we're going to reward all of the Kings fans that abandoned their team with a Stanley Cup, while you loyal and devoted fans can continue to suck."

People think I love sports now, but I used to love sports a LOT more. A huge part of me died that day.

But this has very little to do with Circuit City deals

Bankruptcy is official.

They will be starting a fire sale tomorrow, Saturday the 17th, which they say will go until existing merchandise runs out/likely until the end of February.

I would NOT recommend making a big purchase like a new TV considering there will be no company to return it to, but for those of you that were in the market for small gadgets, CDs, DVDs, etc... keep your eyes open on your local CC store and the website.

Sad to see 30,000+ losing their jobs (I've worked there too, couple of my friends and previous co-workers in this number), but for you thrifty types, may be a good chance to buy a few things at a great price.

I felt the same way when the Rams won the Superbowl. They should of never left Orange County. We had season tickets to the end. That bitch owner took them away. I will never forget after they won, the first thing out of her mouth was justification of leaving here. I wanted to reach through the TV and strangle her.

That is Kelly Clarkson actually, though I wish she were my girlfriend!

Incidentally enough, Kelly happens to be the one girl on my "list" that I'm allowed to get with without getting into trouble with my girlfriend. So, I'm working on that .

Has anyone gone to Circuit City and bought a great deal yet? I have not gone yet, just wondering is the getting any good.

A friend went and said that their was nothing good. Prices haven't dropped that low yet, can still get better deals at online stores.

Saw a commerical yesterday on a local channel advertising liquidation sales at our local stores so I decided to go check it out today. Here is what I found out:

-Talked to a sales guy and he said everything must go and they are expecting the majority of items to be sold this weekend. Basically, this is their last weekend to be open. At least for this location.

-10 to 15 percent off Plasmas, LCD's and tv accessories (Tv stands).
-20 percent off DVD's, Blu rays and Cd's.
-20 percent off xbox/playstation games.
-10 percent off digital cameras
-10 to 15 percent off GPS

Most of the items had been already picked through. There were only about a dozen tvs, no laptops, a couple desktops, crappy movies, crappy cd's.

Overall, not really any good deals. You could probably find the same items for the same price at a competitor or online. My advice would be not to waste you time.

i went for 3 mins the other day, looked at dvd's

looked like they had marked them up and then took 20-30% off... when it came down to it I could get them cheaper at sam's club if i really wanted them
