The only watchable women's tennis is when one of the top ten play each other. Watching a match between any of the players outside the that is excruciating especially the ones in the top #25 and above. Not so in the men's game when you got the likes of Youzhny, Janowicz, Dimitrov and many more all in the top thirty and can give you an entertaining match.

Also, if the women would like to get paid the same, why not make them play an equal amount of sets in slams? If you're a pro, fitness level should not be a concern.

A lot of the women ranked outside the top twenty can't even maintain a rally past 10 shots and it's a boring error upon errors festival. I'm not being sexist by any means, I've just been watching and gambling on this sport long enough to comment on how ridiculous your thread is.

Same argument can be made for volleyball. You have the enjoyment of women it tight shorts/bikinis playing the game in a way where it's easier to hold serve (opposite of tennis but same concept) and the rallies are longer. There's a bit more finesse going on in women's volleyball rather than power. I can see how women's tennis is more entertaining for you and I appreciate these aspects too. People who play the sport the best should be paid the most shouldn't they? Some women can't even overhead smash the ball which is absolutely pathetic. It is a business after all though and so really whoever brings in the most should be paid the most whatever the reason.

If I wanted to watch two good looking women going at it, there are plenty of other places to find that with women 10x hotter than Sharapova. That's not the reason I watch tennis. Maybe for all the noobs out there that don't appreciate the game, to keep them interested, they need a pretty face to look at. After the novelty has ended (after about 45 minutes) and at the end of the day, skill is a necessity. Sharapova is a poor example because in her case she's great looking in addition to being one of the best players ever to grace the court.

Look at Mandy Minella. Equally stunning as Sharapova on the looks department but do you think guys are lining up to pay for tickets to watch her play? No because bottom line to keep people interested you gotta have the skills.
