E, I will say this. If I recall right, it was a typical zone block. Looking back, they would have been best served if they would have done a power play where they would have down blocked (to get leverage and angles) and then done a kickout on the end man on the line of scrimmage by the fullback. Then the back would have been at full speed hitting the hole and the linebacker would have had an angle tackle where momentum would have let him score. It would have been much more effective.

My guess is that Loadholt is their best O Lineman and that run blocking comes easier than pass blocking for, not only him, but the majority of O Linemen.

Don't forget these FL D linemen are NFLers as well. The problem there is quickness off the ball. If you line up and both know what you are gonna do then the quicker, lower guy wins every time. I would have to look at it again to see the play to really say though to say for sure but I can bet that the FL D linemen was quicker off the ball.

Agreed. I gotta go to bed but I'll sign off with one last thought.

I still think that Oklahoma's defensive gameplan was solid. The problem was on offense. You can have the best gameplan in the world but if you can't execute, specifically on the offensive side of the ball, you won't win. I hope this is not misconstrued as whining. I made the bets and lost. Point taken. To me, the 2 goal line plays where Oklahoma was stopped on 4th and goal and the horrible decision by Bradford on the interception basically cost them the game.

I will say this though: it appeared to me that, specifically in the final 7 minutes, the Sooners were gassed. Florida did the same thing to Alabama which says to me that, defensively, the Gators were much better than I had given them credit for before the game started.

stoops shouldnt be fired, but his salary should be cut in half. that sorry fuker had 1st and 10 inside the 5 and the 10 in the 2nd quarter and ran the worst fuking plays to get a gotdamn goose egg. should have been at least 17-7 at half instead of being tied. fuk him, i won money and would have won a little less on OU ML, but geez, how many times can this guy get outcoached when it counts???
