The software only allows one tournament to be played by user per day. So if you'd be at the cubicle from 10AM through 10PM and thus couldn't make one tournament for an hour, that stinks but at least you have time to gamble I presume.

Never played in World Cup before Yis, wasnt' sure if it was different or not.

People have done a great job clarifying the set-up and rules.

Unfortunately it is true that most working people will not be able to participate, which doesn't make sense. Why 11PM? 10PM will make tons more sense for people in the east coast (i am assuming blind structure are similar to the normal ones which run for 1.5 hours or so). For players in the west one of the earlier ones can be 11pm

They spread the tourneys out because it's the World Cup. They have to please people in England, Russia, Australia, etc who can't play at the US dinner time of 9pm.

1 Tourney a day. Simple as that. If you cant make it every day any time they offer, you miss a day. Make it up the next. (I missed damn near half the days and still make a few k overall off of it) Jus sayin....

You can only play one tournament a day pal. Takes 75-90 minutes to reach the final table. Most of the time I was out after 20-30 minutes. Sometimes I was out in less than 15 minutes. I don't know why you keep saying that people play 5 tournaments a day.

I never meant every tourney a day, I meant every day, every tourney possible. I don't know what jobs you guys have but with work I have maybe 6 hours to myself an family at night and spending 1/3 of that even if its two days a week to meaningless poker, it's stupid. And it won't matter anyway because like I said you'll have players playing everyday anyway and even if they are bad, over 4 months they will place plenty of times, whatever, I'm done.

You guys have fun, just saying, by SBR making this a 4 month thing, they are effectively taking most of the posters on here out of the running

Reasons? Maybe that playing these tournament for months and months is like watching paint dry every day. As for ring games? I ran like hell for about 3 months straight here and I don't feel like seeing if variance evens out.

If I drink enough whiskey one of these nights I might show up at ring games to donate my pts. Just no value in these tourneys. If you like 'em then by all means play 'em. Our last US team was a disaster. Try like hell to qualify only to be teamed up with clowns like PO69, Robert Wrath and D2bets. If only D2 and PO were as good as they thought they were we'd have had a chance. And Wrath is probably a fine guy but a complete space cadet. Didn't respond to any of our messages trying to coordinate team schedules, etc.

I would even fire up a SBR tourny while playing on other sites because I enjoy the camaraderie but it's dry and boring. Same thing over and over again and now the gimmicks are just longer. It's the summer in the northern hemisphere so you go to the beach for one week and miss a few other days here and there and you can forget about making the US team unless you go on some bad ass heater. Having this World Cup for longer than a month is overkill imo. Make it 300k points and then have the final tournaments, give everyone badges and bragging rights, then move on to new, fresh contests with the other 900k and Ipads going towards them. But what do I know...not my call

Believe me there was some serious thought given to this. At the end of the day, you don't have to be very good to represent Yugoslavia in the Basketball Olympics, but to make the American team, you're the best of the best.

We did increase to 12 players in this year's format though.
