#6I have a CHL, and a few different carry weapons...a few questions for you:
what state do you live in?
do you prefer revolvers or semi-automatic pistols?
are your hands larger, or smaller than average?
are you looking for a full frame gun, compact, or subcompact?Comment -

#7if you expect some real trouble, you could always go with a setup like this....perfectly legal with a CHL. i think it would be considered slightly overdoing it though

#9Yeah, I've had a CCW for three years now, but it's primarily to allow me to have a loaded handgun in my car when I go out. Generally I don't go places that would make me want to carry just walking around on the street. I have it because the only ways out of my area are secluded mountain roads and believe it or not we still have the occasion highwayman out here, looking to rob people with car troubles. It's certainly worth getting a CCW permit right now before Barack Osama gets sworn in and start nominating anti-gun folks to the SCOTUS. In fact, the state of Oregon processed more CCW permit applications the day after Thanksgiving than in any full week in their history. People see through his rhetoric and know they need these permits grandfathered in before the laws change.Originally posted by StraitShooter90% of the guys dont give a shit about your problems..and the other 10 are glad you have them..Comment -

Next take a defensive shooting class , most last around 8 hours.I also teach those, and for the couple hundred bucks it costs, you will come away being able to actually hit a live moving target at ranges up to 75 feet.Any idiot can shoot a paper target or can thats sitting still, hitting something thats charging you is a totally different event.
Dont worry about Obama taking away your ccw rights, they are all state issued, there is no federal permit for the anyone to take. Hope this helps.

you also might want to consider purchasing a quality pocket flashlight to carry with you to investigate things that go bump in the night. you don't want to come around the corner of your house with your gun drawn just to find yourself pointing your loaded gun at your harmless neighbor who is going into work early in the morning.
I have a E1B Backup from Surefire, and it comes in real handy, I carry it everywhere.

The stock ones aren't priced too bad, but they aren't has hardcore looking as those. Last time I was at a gun show (6 mos or so), they were going for around $500. Thats for the stock saiga-12. If you want to get a modified one like in that picture, check out www.tromix.com. Be sure to also check out their "Tromix Projects" section on the sight, they have some cool guns that they made in their shop throughout the years.
Dougie Fresh - you can't go wrong with a 22! Fun as hell to shoot, and cheap as shit to shoot. I think boxes of 500rds are going for about $14 right now at wal-mart (was cheaper). The walther is a great gun, you also might want to check out the ruger markII or markIII. Also, if you're going to get a 22LR pistol, you might as well pick up a 22LR rifle to go with it, you can get a ruger 10/22 for a song, and they are very fun guns.
With that said, I went out and played with some of my guns today! Had a blast. I got a cheap scope for xmas that mounts on the carry handle of my ar-15, and went out to sight it in at 100yds. I have a few pics, but they are from a cell, so kinda small.Comment -

If you are worried about thugs ****ing with you then a concealed weapon is the wrong way to go. Carry something big, mean, and nasty that is clearly visible. Crowbar, shotgun, anything like that.
If you were a punk, and you were looking for someone to **** with, who would you select? The dude that looks like he is unarmed (but actually has a concealed weapon) or the dude who is carrying a shotgun?Comment -
