#1543There went his shot at breaking back. I am not sure how Youzhny has run into two opponents in a row that have basically given him the matches....I mean he is playing better than he did vs Fognini, but still....Almagro may still be stewing about giving the first set away after having it in the bag.Comment -

#1545He just blew away another break point....he is pushing him but not playing clutch tennis at all....and all of these break points he is getting to second serves too.....terrible
EDIT....two more chances to break serve if he can hold his own....I hate to say it, but I don't think he gets it done....he has expended a ton of energy in losing these last two games.Comment -

Sadly he has now beat him all 5 times. Rough start for the day for sure. Hopefully the NHL and NBA games (and for those the follow the MLB) will go better for us.Last edited by bald_guy; 05-08-13, 02:47 PM.Comment -

#1548Hey D2D i have looked over your thread going back 3-5 days. Are you running a chase system in MLB? Your on KC, Toronto, Sf everyday and it doesnt look like your concerned with beating the closer? Im sorry if this was stated somewhere else as I havent followed the thread from the beginning. #1549Well, this might sound dumb, but in a way, I think its good we have days where we give up some money. I honestly think we would run into trouble with the books if everyday or most everyday was a winning day. The books are not into people funding there account with 200-300 dollars and pulling out 10K with any regularity. Its a business to make money, not an ATM.
Bets where we pay some good juice and fail looks good for our accounts book wise. Least I feel this way anyway. So I'm glad you are human instead of a flawless perfect machine.Comment -

#1558100% disagree.. Cleveland has won 9 of their last 10, while beating the A's the last 3. The A's are missing Coco Crisp (which is why they got out to such a hot start anyway) and the power bat Chris Young. Bartolo Colon has withstood the test of time but he throws, and this is an actual stat, 90 percent fastballs. I get the location, location, location, but he'll get those C cup titties lit up just like hes used to. 8 ER's his last 11 innings of work. I understand Kazmir has been injury prone his whole career and is also getting past his better days, but the years he has been around he has been in contention for strikeout leader almost every year. I like the Indians chances here at at a dog. I'm not going to be the one betting against a team 9-1 in their last 10.. GLComment -

#1560Hey guys. Typical day yesterday and we ran around even aside from the ATP plays (that was tough!!!).
Picks will be up a bit late today, but just to let you know there will be a reduction in plays and $ amounts until I get back on the rails. I was pressing yesterday and paid big juice and lost and I won't start pressing to get anything back. The last 3 days have put me $2500 from reaching my next plateau where I would increase my bet-sizing so there is no need to press.
I am not sure how I wasn't on the Heat last night....gun shy after game 1 I guess, but I cannot let that affect me.
Oh well, lets start the grind all over!!Comment -

#1561You're Right, Boston, But
Say Boston:
I totally agree with you, when I first saw the comment of Operator X, my reaction was the same as yours.
Against that, it was kinda quiet in here.
Also, it is really quite amazing to bet on the A's and sweat their games pitch - by - pitch.
I read Moneyball a few years back (haven't seen the flick yet) and I became conscious that the A's (and Billy Beane) came up with a totally new way of playing baseball (while over the previous 100 years the approach to baseball strategy had changed about as often as the rules of chess).
As I understood/stand it, the A's came up with a strategy that leveraged long at-bats.
Work the count in the first inning of the first game of the series, and by the third game you've depleted the bullpen of your opponent.
Talk about your butterfly effect!
It is really inspiring to see them do this - the exact opposite of teams like the Marlins, where the batters draw very few walks.
Anyway, I agree with you that Operator X has no reason to come in here with his own picks, but with a few thousand of us sitting around world-wide waiting for D2D to shovel his car out from under the snow (just kidding - I realize it's May) or whatever he's doing up there, X actually did all of us a service by coming in with his play, since it's an interesting side.
I would agree that he definitely shouldn't make a practice of it (unless he's going to average 60% winners or better when he does, obviously - then D2D will start tailing him!).
Moneyball Rules!
- OSP
PS: I believe that was part of the Red Sox success around 8 years ago, Theo Epstein came from the A's organization and became the Sox GM just before they won the World Series. Just sayin' ...

I am trying to identify teams that are just coming off of bad runs, that have good value and that are going to go on a heater. That obv doesn't apply to all bets. In MLB I am starting to show some good progress and I am thinking that by mid-year I will be all over it.
I am still a work on progress here, lol.Comment -

If anyone has time I suggest they keep track (or even go back a month or so) and post D2D's record per each sport. Hopefully we will see a nice progression in MLB throughout the year as well as all sports. I know Coreos did this before and the hockey numbers were insane, but maybe if we all pitch in and whoever has time that day updates it and we throw them a few points here in there. D2D does enough keeping track of the whole picture.
Just a thought.Comment -
