I usually have good BR management and usually will just withdraw my profits instead of moving up my stake size. However the past couple weeks I've been on a hot streak and haven't had a single losing day. I wanna maximize my profits however I am also worried that I am bound to go cold again. The reason I haven't increased my unit size is because there are days when I wager 8-10 games and this would mean risking 1/4 of my BR on any given night and I didn't feel comfortable with this but assuming my streak continues I want to maximize my profit. So do I make the increase or not?
Should I move up my unit size from 2.5% to 3.5%

#8I think 5% is too high IMO. I think you have it right at 2.5%.
It keeps you in the game longer, and lets be honest.......not many us are gonna winning longterm.Comment -

#9I think it depends on how many games you bet. If your betting 1 or 2 games per day I think you can go as high as 4% but if betting 3-5 plays a day stick with 2.5% and if you bet more then that I'd go 2% or lower.Comment -

#13if you have a day job, then you will keep making more money to replenish the "bankroll". so if you put in $1000 you seriously want to make $25 bets? that's ridiculousComment -

#14$25 or $40.....not a major difference, is it?
Who wants to keep replenishing there bankroll anyways!
Start with a roll around 4 or 5k....then make $100 bets, youll stay in the game a long time, and if you get hot.....it's nice pocket change.Comment -

I am, but not like I used to. I did pretty good on Bowl Season. Hit just over 60% betting 33 of the games......cashed a bit out, and playing small on the rest. With a family, full time job and working on my MBA.....I just dont have the time to get serious with it.Comment -

Losing 1% of bankroll bet 10 times is 90% of total bankroll left.
Losing .5% of bankroll bet 10 times is 95% of total bankroll left.
That's calculated by bet % of original deposited bankroll amount,
you save even more money if you bet % by current bankroll amount instead or original deposited bankroll amount.
Money management is critical.
If you go ALL IN at 100% of bankroll, then you are a degenerate and a square.Comment -

As it is the 'ideal' percentage is going to be around 2.5-3%, that is assuming they can hit 54% in the first place. Most guys arent good enough to bet anything, but if they want to pretend they can then 2% would more than likely be the max they would want to bet. Then that amount will go up in dollars (not percentage) as their bankroll grows.Comment -

#35Depends on your bankroll.
We always say, Never bet more then %5 of your bankroll but it applies to small bankrolls. As your bankroll gets large, you have to decrease %.
I think it's okay to bet %5 if your bank is smaller then 1000-2000€. Since you have nothing to lose. Even if you lose this money, it won't be end of the world.
Something very funny I observed between bettors, (not talking about you btw, it's about other people) Some people say, I raised my bankroll to 3500 from 350. It makes x10! So if I had started with 5000, I would make 50,000. LMAO.
Managing 2000€ and 40,000€ are different things..this is something people don't understand.
Anyway, let's get to your post. If you ask for my advice,
Smaller then 2000€, %5 is okay.
2000€ - 5000€ %4
5000€ - 10,000€ %3
20,000€ - 50,000€ %2
50,000€ + %1
PS: Number of plays is another factor. A punter who bets 3 games/day (90 games/month) and a capper who bets 10 games/day -sometimes 30 picks/day- (NCAA?) should use different %.Comment
