im just gonna use McKinely for example, sure if the ever day person who watches the nfl might not know who that 6th wide out on the Broncos is, or care that he makes 500k a year..
but where he grew up, those kids that town, dont see him as a 6th wide out, they see him as NFL player who made it, they see a shot,a chance...
then when McKinely is going to or about to be cut, he sees that world of success around him starting to crumble, depression, lack of success starts to sink, feel like you let people down and you feel like there is no way out but to end it
in Kennys case he injuried his knee.. when you get hurt as a late round or undrafted pick you dont get a 2nd chance when your lucky your a first round pick
sounds like it was similiar in O.J's case as well... knee injury and what not... so depressing that he went back to his high school where he was a star, and shot himself . its like he went back to the last place he had happiness
as far as bechler.. heard he had a head injury 2 weeks ago... where he had short term memory loss... not an excuse at all but his brain should be looked at..
it seems like he snapped, fire shots at the girlfriend.. as soon as he did it he knew he had no way out, and thought his best option was to end it...Comment -

dont think they are saying that, I guess if people want to mention gun control and 2nd amendment rights, they should probably note that Costa was exercising his 1st amendment right of free speech.
right?Comment -

#42I think everyone on here loves free speech, the outcry is because so much of the media pushes the more liberal points of view while silencing and punishing other opinions. Very, very dangerousComment -

Fair Enough reason.. not really into the left/right stuff but see the complaint...
Personally, i've never been in to guns one way or the other. dont see why people are into them. but to each is own... I try to listen to both sides of every thought, argument, etc.. before formulating an opinion... whether it is left or right etc...
The problem with what Costa said about stricter gun laws and it saving belcher and perkins is, that is not the case at all.
Jevon Belcher purchased both guns legally, never had any major strikes on his record, even with stronger gun laws it would not of stopped him from getting them.
And its not like you can wipe guns completely out of the United States either... Cause even if those laws were made tougher...I live about 30 minutes from nyc, 15 minutes from newark, about 10 from new brunswick, 45 camden, 1 hr from philly.... i dont think legals guns are the problems their Bob, its the illegal guns that are still out there..that their is little to no control over..
now if im wrong over that last part would love to hear the right answer, as I said im not up to date on gun information,Comment -

#46I love the first amendment as well as the second, but it was in bad taste. Costas talked about a 1 sided political issue on Sunday Night Football. Talk about it on FoxNews or MSNBC, but don't push your agenda during a game.Comment -

#56Bob Costas was right.....how many people get killed by the Batman idiot in Colorado if he's using a knife? The right wing Nazi wannabe in Norway killed 90 I think? Killing with a knife is just a wee bit harder and a big Oklahoma City bomb is too complicated for most of these idiots and doesn't give them the same satisfaction as firing guns. Wanting stricter gun control doesn't mean you're against the 2nd amendment. I like cars but people aren't allowed to drive around town doing 120.
As for Belcher....I'm also glad he shot himself. I don't blame guns....I blame the culture where people like Belcher grow up without a dad and making up their own idea of what a "man" should be. White liberals can't fix this problem and its not PC to talk about it anyway but its there. Bill Cosby got killed when he brought it up.Comment -

#59Anyone read the article on esp today about McKinley and Murdock?
Hit the nail on the head as far as them thinking hey were failures as home town heroes..
I will post link when on a computerthats a good point... as far as both wide outs go... and as far as bechler no one knows or will ever know what made him snap...
