Yea I've got some DVD's from way way back in the day and know exactly of what you're talking about.....but the shit I got from say 1983-1992 is so much better than the stuff on TV today.....I shouldn't say nothing in the last 18 years should be mentioned cause the whole Stone Cold/Raw era from the late 90's was pretty dam good.

yeah i loved early 80s wrestling. when the good guys didn't cheat, kick people when they were down/after the match, etc

            Highest Ratings In My Book

            1. Hogan VS Giant
            2. Hogan VS Warrior
            3. Rock VS Stone Cold
            4. Rock VS HHH
            5. Stone Cold VS HHH

I know it may seem pretty simplified... but I think wrestling expanded when you had

Stone Cold/Rock/HHH always leading the way. It didn't get any better than this in my book.

I always thought HHH was overrated in the ring as a worker and just knew how to play the game politically. Just my opinion and as Milwaukee said everyone is going to have different tastes. For example MoneyShot loved Austin/HHH and I thought those matches were average at best, all about one's preference I guess.

The Rock vs. John Cena has no bussiness being even in top 10. I would think 10 of those Shane Mchmahon matches from back in the day would be on the list. Especially the last man standing match he had

One of my favorites was the first Sting-Flair match at the first Clash of Champions. 45 minute no contest match going h2h with Wrestlemania 4.

Anything in the last 15 years or so that isn't Taker/Michaels 1, Rock/Hogan or a match that doesn't have Kurt Angle in it doesn't deserve to be on this list.

                          Agreed.

Rock was so ring rusty that Cena had to on occasions give Rock direction during the match.

Say what you want about Cena, I personally love Cena the wrestler, you would be hard pressed to find a harder worker than him.

                            This is a great one.
Tazz makes his WWF (yes, WWF) debut, kicks Angles ass for Angle's loss.
                            Terrific Royal Rumble match.

I think it is not the greatest matches ever just most famous. Those matches were famous but a match that should have made the list was Zybisko vs Sammartino.First Wrestlemania Hogan Mr T vs Orndorff Piper should have been there i remember watching that match on a huge screen at the La Sports Arena there were 15,000 people that day in the arena just to watch it on closed circuit tv remember those days gosh the 80s were fun.My favorite matches ever were Backlund vs Snuka cage match at MSG.Bret Hart vs Undertaker cage match in Jersey.Hogan heel turn and joing the nwo.NWO Was the greatest wrestling storyline ever.

Kurt Angle vs. Shawn Michaels from Wrestlemania anyone?
Bobby Heenan says that was one of the greatest matches he's ever seen.

For the most part I agree. One recent match that I think will be remembered fondly in the future is Punk vs. Cena from Money in the Bank last year. Fantastic build up, unbelievable crowd, great match, and an ending that I don't think many believed they would go with.

What was the Wrestlemania in which there was a playoff and Savage won all the matches? Was that Wrestlemania 4? To me... that was a little different/unique. I still remember that. That was pretty cool for being 1988.

I went to Wrestlemania 1 as a 13 year old. That event is like the Super Bowl (can't be topped)---you can't top the 1st of anything. When Hogan wrestled Andre, Andre was in a tremendous pain and on his way out. Too much stuff to compare. A match like. Undertaker-Mankind Hell in the Cell was basically Mick Foley risking his life and showed the most heart as he endured physical pain more than anyone that I've ever seen.

Can't compare apples and oranges but Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair led each federation and are the definition of wrestling legends.
