Stupid fuking rule. Regardless how retarded the coach is. In the heat of battle, and with such a bad call, your emotions take over and react.
To be penalized 7 points for that reaction is stupid. Just give the Texans 15 yards and review the damn play.

actually, Belichick has already done the same thing (thrown the flag on an unreviewable play), but didn't get penalized for it. He tends to get away with stuff.

NFL blatant with bad call
Knee clearly down, but they come up with a bogus "made up" ruling to get out of it.............

How is it a "made up" rule?
It's in black & white in the rule book. Google it for yourself.

How about they just blow the whistle when everyone in the world can see he's down except the blind mice standing on the field.

That's a really good question. You think the play might go against you so you throw the flag.

It's a waste of time when guys throw a flag on a play they can't challenge. That was part of the process of implementing this system. In this case okay sure it's a problem but in most cases coaches would slow the game down by throwing a challenge flag. How else do you stop that?

Theyre not even winning, theyre tied. They are only tied because of that bs TD. If the lions are a loser squad what does that make the Texans?

So what if the Texans score and the Texans coach immediately throws the challenge flag?
Do they take a penalty on the kickoff but the play can not be reviewed and TD stands?

imo the games are played for the fans and that whole sham was really a technicality. Robbing the fans of a fair game behind a technicality is just bad form on the part of the NFL. Even the announcers didnt know that rule and theyre also supposed to be completely up on the rules.

Review the play, and tack on the 15 yard penalty after.

exactly and that's how I thought it worked. 15 yard penalty, coaches aren't going to throw it and intentionally incur a penalty (hear the result from the booth, then go on the field, announce the decision, and say "Since the Detroit coach tried to challenge a play that is automatically reviewed, a 15 yard penalty will be enforced against Detroit")
I didn't realize they then refuse to review it. It's a ludicrous system.

I'm talking about this play today.
All TD's are reviewed. They should of reviewed it like normal, and tack on the 15 yard penalty after.
To have points on the board that shouldn't be there, is fuking terrible.
