#38Call me stupid, but I like Cain as an underdog. I think people overvalue that first fight as a strong indicator of what will happen here. JDS' cardio has yet to be tested. He's only gone 3 rounds in basically pure strikefests with Nelson and Carwin. Cain's wrestling and unbelievable cardio I think will weigh heavily on JDS if they make it out of the first round. Still a close fight, anyway you look at it, but outside of a first or maybe second round KO, this fight is Cain's to lose. If you can get JDS ITD or by KO at +money, you could certainly hedge it.Comment -

#41Hmmm yeah it seems the best odds i could find for the first fight were around +155-175 for jds when he fought velazquez. Could have swore i saw +200 but must be wrong. Maybe the reduced juice on 5D got it closer to that number because that's where I've done my betting for quite awhile.Comment -

#49Yes, it was recently made mandatory by the Nevada State Athletic Commission that they change. The fighters will change shorts several times on the day of the fight. So when you hear Mike Goldberg say, "Junior Dos Santos is in the green and yellow shorts." Do NOT be fooled. He has probably changed shorts several times on the day of the fight. He could be wearing red shorts, black shorts, or even camouflage shorts. The bottom line is this is terribly important when placing your bet. In Vegas, you bet according to the color of the shorts the fighter is wearing...not their last name.Originally posted by sean2000do they change on the day of the fight?Comment -

Let's not forget the importance of hog analysis as well in deciding who to bet on...sometimes the type and color of shorts can also help determine who rules the hog roostComment -

#58This is very true and an often forgotten aspect of handicapping a fight. Black shorts can have a slimming effect on the hog. While vertical stripes can have a lengthening effect on the hog. The trick is to not be fooled by false hog analysis.Originally posted by Vaughanylol

#59i don't know how anyone can build a case for Cain. Here you have a guy who can box and stop take downs against a guy who may come from one of the worst boxing camps on the planet. Their guys get knocked out left and right. Look at all the adjustments Kos made in his last fight against GSP.
Absoulutely nothing but the same old stuff and he got picked apart while GSP made adjustments. Same with Swick. Swick has great hands but never learned how to throw straight punches when he got in trouble. U get him in a fire fight and he throws everything wide. This is the story about that gym so i don't see how Cain has any chance here. Cain got hit with a terrible punch thrown by JDS. It was from left field started from the ground almost. Good luck with your Cain wagers. Cain needs to take JDS down and nobody has shown they could just yet.Comment -

#67I'm waiting for the day that we agree on something lol. Nobody has shown they can take down JDS yet because nobody who has fought JDS yet is a wrestler (save Cain and that fight only lasted 64 seconds). Can't vouch for Cain's training camp, but his boxing looked pretty solid against Noguiera. But yes, JDS is the superior boxer for sure and it would be wise for Cain to utilize his wrestling. I think it's perfectly feasable for JDS to end up looking like Bigfoot Silva in this fight.Originally posted by Thor4140i don't know how anyone can build a case for Cain. #69i like Cain. I think he is a beast. Stylistically this is the style That beats him. Kongo tore him up on the feet but couldn't stop a take-down to save his life. JDS is a whole different ball game. Say what ya want but Nelson is also a decent wrestler who couldn't take him down.Originally posted by JudgejoebrwnI'm waiting for the day that we agree on something lol. Not Cains credentials but he still can grapple. I will take the boxer ten out of ten times when he can stop take downs. I don't have any faith in that camp of his and the ability to improve their standup. Cains standup vs Nogs? Who's standup looks bad against Nogs?Comment -

#70UFC.com shows JDS with an impressive 88% takedown defense. However, Nelson and Mir combined for a whopping 0 for 18. On the other hand, Gonzaga and Carwin combined for a total of 4 for 7. So I guess it depends on how you look at it.Comment
