Travel ball tips.

Buy a canopy if you don't already own one. You will thank me for this when it is 100+ degrees outside in the shade.

Bring snacks (watermelon, strawberries etc to tournaments young girls eat a lot in between games and it beats filling them with sugar and crap)

MAke friends with the ones that have been doing it for years, they are the ones that will know what is going on. (if they have older kids that played travel ball this helps immenselly.)

Be prepared to spend 50-100 easily each day of each tournament. Merchandise...

If she wants to pitch or catch start her now! Lessons etc. It will be worth it down the road.

Invest in quality equipment. Cleats, sliding pad, sliding shorts etc. Yeah she will grow out of them, but it's better to have one really good pair then a pair that will fall apart. Also invest in a pair that is cheap and leave it in the vehicle. (for those bad days when something gets forgotten at home and you are hours away)

High quality lawn chairs (you will be spending a lot of time in these A LOT)

Always bring lots of drinks, always.

Always pack and umbrella. Again always

Before you purchase a bat, make sure it meets standards for the travel league.

If possible buy an extra pair of socks, again just trust me on this one.

i agree with both of these, it's because i am drinking too much that i have a can 'o pee for all my kids little league games. bathrooms are just too damn far away.

6 year old travel leagues. I started playing travel baseball at 8 and looking back even that seems young. At least softball pitching motion won't destroy her arm like baseball pitching did to mine. Just be sure she wants to do it, sounds like she has potential and you do not want to burn her out.

Two of my cousins (10 and 13) play softball and just dominate. Went to go watch them play and they're just hitting dingers out the fukkin park. They both got to meet Danielle Lawrie when they went down to a Huskies softball game and basically just idolize her.

i suffered through years of mediocrity until FINALLY my son's team won the little league championship this year. on father's day no less.

Last time I went to my cousin's softball game there was a game among 14-15 yo girls on the next field. I felt so guilty and ashamed afterwards...because my cousins team was mercy ruled and I didn't offer any words of encouragement or support.

Our 1 year old already loves playing with her ball. With her sports obsessed Dad she didn't have a chance. :-)

Will probably take her down for basketball and softball (her grandma was a decent softball player) when she is old enough. If she wants to play something else that is fine, as long as she is playing some sports.
