Janikowski (I believe) onside kicked one by laying the ball on the ground earlier this year, no tee, on a regular kickoff. We've all seen crazy endings happen, Detroit scored two touchdowns in 47 seconds or something earlier this year also. Even though Schiano claims it, I still have yet to see a team lost when attempting a kneel down.

im just reading everything as didnt see gm but from my understanding taking the safety would have lead to more plays having to be ran while declining the safety essentially ended the gm,,,no reason to take points if you ahead and the gm over...

The only logical reason he declined is to avoid injuries, which is smart. but no one on this board is convincing me he did it to seal the win. SF would have been up 9 points. Seattle would have had to recover and onside kick, score, recover another onside kick, and score again. All with no time outs, in san francisco, with 55 seconds left. So all this probability of losing the game BS is non sense, he did it to prevent injuries.

absolutely,,,win was sealed either way but why risk a free kick where all hell gonna break loose, nothing good could have happened for sf in that spot, best case is the same thing that happened by refusing the safety, would have been careless to subject his players to that play..

No one is saying that's what he should of done. I'm talking about the morons that come in and post that he declined to "seal the win" and "reduce the probability of losing the game". No doubt in my mind it was to prevent the chance of injuries.

I had $2 on the Seattle teaser .... no matter Harbaugh's decision, that was a freak safety and based on the tone of the game, you were pretty much on the right side of the bet with Seattle +points. But, for future reference, Pete Carroll does not have much of a receiving corp or passing game and I don't think that Lynch will make it through the season in one piece.
