Who doesn't love a team that not only loses your money, but makes you feel retarded for having backed them?
The Texans aren't winning shit this year. I don't care how good they look against average/bad teams. They have pretty severe fundamental problems on defense, and they just can't depend on their pass rush to contain top tier QBs behind strong OLs that have clearly identified how to counter the pressure.
The Broncos and Pats will both flatten them in the playoffs, and I think the Steelers/Ravens would be quite capable of doing so as well if they can get a bit healthier.
And now the Colts are +9.5 against them next week.
I think the biggest gamble in this set of games is relying on the Texans to bounce back against a hungry Colts team. I think Luck will be able to put up points in this game, but Schaub should be able to do enough to take the win and the division.

Eagles ML (+190) x2
I don't have much respect for the Bengals, and I think the legacy of Vick & Reid has inflated this line considerably in a game that's being tagged as a must-win for Cincinnati against an Eagles team that's given up. BULL. SHIT.
Going back to last year, the Bengals lived off a very weak schedule and didn't beat any playoff teams all year. This year, they've been better but are still living on weak opponents to a large degree. The win against the Giants is in their favour, but that win came at a bad spot for NY, coming off a tough loss to the Steelers and going into their bye. Their next most impressive win came against the Redskins, and it might look impressive now, but at the time, Washington was a bad team who would lose six of their first nine games before rounding into form in the last few weeks. Other than that, they've been beaten soundly by the good teams, and have a very average statistical resume.
The Eagles have changed their approach in the last two weeks, understanding that they aren't going to the playoffs this week, but have a lot up in the air for next season. They're giving Nick Foles a chance to win the starting job for next year, and giving young guys like Brandon Graham and Bryce Brown reps to see what they have to offer. The Eagles team that will be on the field this week is one that's accepted their fate but still have a great deal to play for. Nick Foles should have been given the starting job much earlier than he was, and so while not as far advanced as the other young QBs in the league, he's got a solid skill-set and is looking to make an impression. In the last two games in particular, the increased confidence is noticeable.
I could see myself adding a bit more to this a bit later, but I think the Eagles win this game SU and the Bengals likely won't win another game this year. I think it's a great spot to back Philadelphia and a great price.

A few teams this weekend are in very strong spots to win. Green Bay, Carolina, Denver, and New England are all laying big spreads, but I think they all deserve it. Peyton Manning is pretty much unstoppable right now. Denver needs to win out to guarantee homefield for the playoffs, having lost to both the Texans and Pats earlier in the year, but they should roll the Browns and Chiefs over with ease.
Green Bay is in a similar position, looking to close out the year strong after getting back key players in the last few weeks like Jennings and Matthews. Tennessee only managed to be the less awful team last week, and while they MIGHT cover the +13 via the backdoor cover, they won't be able to really challenge GB for the win. GB will win with authority.
New England just got embarrassed at home and with Jacksonville on deck are primed to take out a little aggression. They also need to win out to guarantee homefield and Jax/Miami are a very winnable pair of final games. Nothing should stop them on Sunday.
Carolina has been an entirely different team in their last 4 games, trying to finish the year with momentum after a horrible start. They're playing with so much confidence right now, and have the benefit of playing against another team in the Raiders that really just proved to be the less awful team last week as well. OAK is also making the trip across from the west coast for an early game, which can be tough. Carolina probably keeps their foot on the gas all game here, and wins by 14+.
I'm purposely leaving Houston out of this as I just don't like them all that much.
So given what's listed above, I'm probably going to play a NE/GB/CAR/DEN ML parlay on Sunday. It pays out at 81 cents on the dollar.

ATS, I think the Dolphins, Bengals, Bucs, Giants, and Redskins all cover the number this week as well. All teams with something to prove, and CIN//NYG/WAS all with playoff spots on the line.
I want to like Seattle to beat the Niners after SF got that huge win at Foxborough last week, but I think I'm just going to watch this one, as I expect it to be a phenomonal game.
Square me up. Every one of these teams will outclass their opponents tomorrow. The Redskins fighting to make the playoffs, the Packers/Pats/Texans/Broncos fighting for homefield, and the Panthers fighting for pride.

I really like the Panthers -8, Redskins -6.5, and Dolphins -4 (and to a lesser extent, Colts -6.5 & Bucs -3). All teams with something to prove and even the ones that don't have a chance at the playoffs are looking to build confidence and end the season on a high note. However I don't know if I'm confident enough in the Colts to include them in any parlay. As good as they can be in some ways, they're a team that makes mistakes.

Week 17
Bills -3 (-123) x1
Colts +7 (-119) x1
I also played the Bengals last night, but obviously for a much better price than what can be had now (-140), so we'll leave that one off the record.
One less TO converted to a FG by the Bears and the Lions ML hits. Really, Detroit should have lost by 14+ with that -4 TO margin...

Teaser (3 team, 10 point) (-130) x2.5
Broncos -7
Niners -6
Seahawks -1
This just seems like a no-brainer to me. The Broncos can clinch homefield today vs the Chiefs, and the Seahawks and Niners are both playing at home and trying to take the division against weak opposition. This should coast to victory quite easily.

The Lions are a talented team overall. Inexperience at RB and injuries on defense cost them a bit this year, especially on defense, but a team with that roster shouldn't be going 4-12. Plug in Jeff Foster or Mike Shanahan and you have a 9 win team challenging for the playoffs.

I really like this. I still think the Bengals were very fortunate earlier in the year, but in recent weeks, they've really earned their current position. Lots of motivation for them to make up for that first week pounding they took.

Horrible coaching/discipline, but their secondary is a trainwreck and has been all season.

I have the Niners at (-4) in my teaser. Not a good start for us. You see them being able to turn it around?

Yeah, penalties were also huge for them. Sixth worst in penalties committed and fourth worst in yards per penalty. Big mistakes. No matter how you slice it, it all comes back to bad coaching. Schwartz should have been fired mid-season.

The thing about SF is if they don't get you early, they'll get you late. Arizona will not continue to control the game like they have.

No kidding. Akers and Crosby are definitely going to be big factors in the postseason. Could be interesting if they miss a FG early in a close game...

10-6 with 26 minutes left in the game. Arizona's initial success has been stifled and they probably won't score more than one FG for the rest of the game. Niners will control the 2H.

The only reason he wasn't is because ownership doesn't want to admit to yet another coaching mistake. Lions have already burned through 3 coaches (I think) in the past 6-7 years.

ya i agree. i posted that when it was 7-6. the FG gave them the scoring momentum they needed. they should run away with it now. Feeling good about the (-4) and if (-4) hits (-6) is gonna hit as well. We got nothing to worry about in the denver game. Just the last leg for both of us. Im on Cowboys (+16.5).
