EP36's Eagles Thread + Prop Shop

Will be adding my thoughts on a play every game for my boys, the Eagles + assorted player/team props throughout the season as I try to stay specialized and find a good, winning formula this season. I will list the sportsbook this prop/whatever is being played at for anyone who gives two shits. Fade. Follow. Do whatcha need to do with this info. Good luck with the season.

Week 1 [Sept.5 @ Bovada] Dallas QB Tony Romo Total Passing Yards Over 275.5 [-130]
Even without Jason Witten, I think Dallas' best offense will be through the air against a stingier front seven for NY. Add in that the Cowboys may be playing catch-up at various times during the game if their defense struggles and I think Romo has an excellent possibility to approach 300 yards and beat this number.

Week 1 [Sept.8 @ 5Dimes] Detroit Team Total Over 27 [-110]
Stafford & the offense looked good when they got their reps in the pre-season. I don't expect them to be missing a ton as they start the season. The Rams showed decent in the games that don't count, but Detroit's prolific passing game should still put up plenty of points.

Should have an Eagles selection in the A.M. Waiting to see some player props first.

Week 1 [Sept.8 @ Bovada] Eagles RB LeSean McCoy Total Rushing Yards Over 92.5 [-125]
The Eagles should again be looking to use the running game more this year to help alleviate the pressure and wear and tear off of Michael Vick. The formula should be fairly simple against teams that they need to beat. Start fast, get a nice lead and use McCoy and the other backs to wear defenses down over the course of four quarters. Philadelphia's O-line needs to be able to establish themselves after a mediocre preseason. They are facing a Cleveland D that struggled against the run last year and is missing key cogs in DT Phil Taylor and former Eagles' LB, Chris Gocong. I think Philly will try to pick on Sheldon Brown [another former Eagle] early with some big pass plays. If they hit those and loosen up the defense even more, the running lanes should be there for McCoy to have a big day.

[2nd Half] Atlanta Team Total Over 11.5 [-115]
Falcons have scored on all four of their possessions. Matt Ryan has been precise and led this team up and down the field through the air. Falcons haven't even gotten much done on the ground yet. They will need more from Turner, but KC hasn't stopped them yet - so if they can get four more possessions minimum, chances to score should be there.

Amazingly McCoy has 50 yards approaching half time on just seven carries. Good 'ol A.R. & Marty should realize the running game could really open things up ... but it is A.R. after all.

If he gets ten carries or more in the 2nd, he'll beat that #. He's been running well every time he touched the ball outside the fumble. If they cut down the penalties or the refs stop calling some questionable shit, he should grind it out. Defense is playing well. Good tackling for once and they are pressuring the rookie now. As long as they hold Cleveland in check, they should be in position to start running more as the half goes on.

KC's defense is Swiss Cheese. Ryan all day to pick out his receivers and they are starting to push them over with the run too.

Week 1 [Sept.8 @ Bovada] Cam Newton Scores Rushing TD +105 *0.5 unit
Surely Schiano wants his D to have an extra eye on Newton, but that is easier said than done with the dual threat ability. With Stewart out, Williams gets the bulk of the carries in the backfield - but it could also mean goal line plays could give Newton extra shots at running one in.

Week 1 [Sept.8 @ Bovada] Seahawks-Cardinals Total Sacks Over 5.5 [+100]
Arizona's O-line is a big question mark. Obviously it was preseason and a lot of mixing & matching, but the Cards O-line was giving up sacks by the truck load. Rookie QB for Seattle could lead to some sacks when they shouldn't happen.

McCoy getting more work, but not getting much in the way of yards. Gonna need him to break a big one to give that prop a chance. Detroit team total looks dead to me barring some special teams or defensive help.

[2nd Half] Carolina-Tampa Bay Over 21 [-105]
Haven't seen an explosive attack from Carolina. They have already abandoned the run. Expect them to up the tempo if they continue to try mostly passes. Tampa has done a great job driving the field. Freeman throwing well. Their running game has not been great, but enough to move the ball.

It is in rain delay which is why I think the juice has dropped on this #. It's not a monsoon from what I see. Might be lightning related delay more than rain.

Week 1 [Sept. 8th @ 5Dimes] Pittsburgh-Denver Total Punts Over 9.5 [-105]
Under the lights on National TV, new offenses in play & of course Manning the big story. Roethlisberger & Haley [new OC] are still working on their relationship. I think Pittsburgh is still going to wind up perhaps a little more pass oriented and Denver's D gave them some problems last year. Going with the over on the punts prop as I think there will be some feeling out between the two teams and hopeful quite a few punts for this prop.

Shitty late day. Out-thought myself on the Sunday Night game as I was looking at Big Ben Over Completions all day and shook off it. I got one for Monday that I have been looking at since last week that I feel good about. Hopefully can rebound after a shit run to finish. Fortunately I didn't get totally crushed since I took a half unit on the Newton prop. Rebound Monday.

This may be the smallest number you see on this prop this season if Baltimore's new no-huddle offense functions the way they envison it. The Ravens are looking to be more offensive this year and that could mean a massive year for Flacco who has been handed the reigns of this old schol Jim Kelly/Buffalo Bills-type no huddle. That should mean a lot more pass attempts and chances for a lot more big games for Flacco.

He's average well over that number in his last 5 games vs chargers including 2 games last season
