#2i honestly think a lot are. but most people will just try to shut you down and call you immature because you say that. that's what pisses me off. why is it so farfetched for games to be fixed??Comment -

#4At this level it's not likely. These people are making enough money without risking time in prison to fix games. Not saying it never happens...just probably not that often.Comment -

#6I'd have to say that ANYONE that sincerely believes NFL games are fixed is an idiot if they still bet on them.
I KNOW that slot machines are fixed, and I NEVER play them.
What kind of person proclaims the NFL is "fixed" and then continues to bet on NFL games? A fool.
I'm not saying there not fixed, only because I cannot prove it, I personally don't believe it though.Comment -

#12I agree with most. No chance. Players are too well paid nowadays to even consider it.
Horse race fixing is another story, but never at the top tracks. Everyone busted in the last 20 years has been a harness driver or jockey at a cheap track. The top jockeys make too much money to risk it, although you'd think the races were fixed sometimes with the lousy rides some of the top jocks put on.Comment -

#19I have been around the block a few times. There are 32 Head Coaches. Take the players way out of the loop.
You have a Corporation that makes billions $.
If you actually watch a football game, it is boring as hell.
How do you make a billion $ industry out of a boring game?
You make a deal with the Head Coaches.
These are your fixes. (They call the plays) Do you see where I am going?Comment -

Who approaches the coaches? What if a coach isn't interested, would they only fix games where he wasn't involved?
Whats stopping a former coach from blowing the whistle?
I can't believe that there exists a system where every coach keeps his mouth shut for eternity, if there was fixing going on, it would eventually get out, its human nature.
I'm still nowhere near convinced.
Only gamblers could actually believe this stuff, most coaches/players don't have ANY interest in gambling.Comment -

#29Come on. Do not make this rocket science. 2 Head Coaches paid millions $ owned by The Big Boys> dudes on opposite sides of the field knowing what the outcome has to be, calls the plays to each other. EX: Jack: "Hey Bob, got to get 7 points here". Bob: "I know. Ok, call a pass play, I will call a Defensive run play". OK. Thanks. See later tonight at the party.
As I said, only gamblers believe this type of nonsense, they believe coaches, players, owners, and refs are all betting on the games, it just ain't so.
(Serious) Gamblers represent a small percentage of the population, true in the sports world as well.Comment -
