Sal Paolantonio reported on ESPN that Philadelphia city officials, Eagles officials and the NFL have been discussing whether to delay the game because of a winter storm that could make driving conditions dangerous Sunday evening.

The storm is predicted to travel directly over Philadelphia right about the same time as kickoff, about 8:20 p.m. Sunday. So the concern is that even if fans and teams can get to the stadium, getting out could be a problem.

Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter announced that the city is declaring a snow emergency as of 2 p.m. Sunday. He is encouraging residents not to leave their homes.

A blizzard is expected to dump up to 20 inches of snow in Philadelphia, where the Vikings are scheduled to play the Eagles on Sunday night, and NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said the league is discussing whether or not the game should be played. This is wrong...AC- Jersey shore is looking at like 20. The burbs n Phila are probably going to be around 10-12 inches. I feel bad for anyone going to this game. Buddy just called up and asked me if I wanted to go. Hell no. The game would be awesome the 4 hours to get out of the parking lots would be a mess. I'll sit this one out. Plus I'm a Niners fan f the Birds.

It's not about the players it's about the thousands of people leaving the stadium. The accidents and the city in general. The players don't give a shit but it is a disaster in the making for Philly. Snow is going to be coming down at that time about 1-2 inches per hour. They are going to call this.

ICE BOWL, the 3-0 snow plow game in foxborough, the tuck rule game and the tennesee game the week after in snow and -30 degree wind chills, the 1975 AFC championship game Oak/Pitt, 1948 NFL championship game between Philly and Chicago was during blizzard.
