Blizzard might force postponement of Vikings-Eagles game

A blizzard is expected to dump up to 20 inches of snow in Philadelphia, where the Vikings are scheduled to play the Eagles on Sunday night, and NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said the league is discussing whether or not the game should be played. Aiello also said the league hasn't made any decision.

I don't think I have ever seen a game called because of this before. I doubt it will happen. I have seen them do this with hockey and basketball games but the NFL on a Sunday Night football national television broadcast game.

NFL is a joke these days. They hold up games for rain storms and you cant even tackle this year, breath on the QB and it's 15 yds.

Metrodome roof caves in and they cancel that game. Still could have been played in that building.

Most of the times the games are not cancelled for the playing field conditions. They are cancelled for safety reasons for the fans who have to travel to the stadium and are season ticket holders. The police and fire departments don't want to be responding to additional accidents and emergencies from additional 100,000 people trying to get into the stadium from all over the state.

Correct, the Philly mayor is advising people to not leave their house, city of Philly in a state of emergency, no chance this game gets played tonight, imo.
