Just showed a slow motion replay of some guy in regular clothes on the Jets sideline, stick his knee out and trip one of the Dolphins gunners on a punt. Way to go Rex and company....

#5Jets sideline personnel should be subject to a huge fine
People get fined 25,000 or more for playing football and making legal hits. This guy's not even playing and stick's his knee out? really?
Goodell needs to show some consistency otherwise this type of shit is gonna happen.
I'd really like to see someone on the dolfins run helmet first into this guys nose though!Comment -

#8Actually I think he should be banned from NFL stadiums during games at the very least -- And really should be fired with in minutes of the game ending.Comment -

#12You gotta be kidding me. He looked like he moved his foot to try to avoid him. The Dolphins guy was running like 2 yards out of bounds. I didn't see anything intentional there at all.Comment -

#13are you joking? did you watch the replay, it was clearly obvious what he did was entirely intentional and reckless.Comment -

#17NY Post has this story on its web site. They ID the guilty party as Jets assistant.strength coach Sal Alosi.
Media chased him out of the building, and he ran out.Comment -

#18I sort of see it the same way. It looks like he might even have been expecting contact and leaned into it a bit. Hard to call it egregious in any event. At most he move a couple of inches.Comment -

#21I mouthed off about Rex earlier, but I bet even he is disgusted by this. Whatever that kids role is for the Jets, he should be let go immediately, and fined. If he is a trainer then fine his ass 5,000 or something. Couldve ruined that guys career.Comment -

#23Naw you're totally wrong there as well jgay. The Jet coach most definitely stuck or bent his left knee outwards to make intentional contact with the Dolphin player. Most intelligent people would have backed away knowing a player was running in his direction. I guess he's simply following in the mould of Jets head coach Humpty Dumpty.
Now why was the Miami player running so far out of bounds or what was he doing that far out of bounds is also a question.Comment -

#24From the NJ Star Ledger:
Jets head strength and conditioning coach Sal Alosi attempted to trip Miami’s Nolan Carroll on a third-quarter punt yesterday.
Alosi was shown on TV bending his knee as Carroll ran past, appearing to trip him up. Carroll was injured on the play but did return to the game.
Coach Rex Ryan had just been briefed on the incident after the game and didn’t want to comment on “what ifs.” A team spokesman said, “The team is reviewing the situation and is looking into the appropriate next step.”
"I made a mistake that showed a total lapse in judgment. My conduct was inexcusable and unsportsmanlike and does not reflect what this organization stands for," Alosi said in a statement released by the team. "... I accept responsibility for my actions as well as any punishment that follows."
Alosi mentioned he had apologized to Carroll, Dolphins coach Tony Sparano, as well as Jets owner Woody Johnson, general manager Mike Tannenbaum and Ryan.
Carroll didn’t realize after the game what had happened on the play.
“Well if he gets fined, give me the money,” he said.
An NFL spokesman said the league would review issues of that nature tomorrow and through the week.Comment -

#26Just saw a better reply. My initial view I didn't see him "setting up" for it. It was wrong, but still, why was the Carroll running 3 yards out of bounds? Aren't they supposed to stay in the field of play?
Anyway, that guy should be fired.Comment -
