Think the rams would have a better chance. There
a different team with Bradford.

sometimes it actually works for the better when these things happen.
fresh legs at this time of the season can do wonders. troy smith likes dinking and dunking and brian westbrook is awesome out of the backfield in open space. i think westbrook's style of running on pitches etc, and troy smith's mobility complement eachother nicely.
with vernon davis, morgan, and crabtree, i think this offense has some awesome potential, which has only been discovered in the last 4 weeks since alex the turd smith got the boot.
along with a decent defense, i think sf can and will make a run.

You might be right 4th. There going to have to figure out a new game plan for that young 49ers offense because they put a lot of faith in Gore.
Westbrook still has it like his days in Philly without question. These last 5 games are his to prove himself after being the back-up to Gore for the most part of the year. Thats if they use Westbrook and don't go with the rookie Dixon.
Aslong as Troy Smith can continue making smart decision (besides that dumb play in 4th Q last night) the offense looks decent. Maybe i'm boosting them a bit. Then again it was the Cardinals defense last night not the Packers, Bears, Giants, Vikings etc. Even in a terrible NFC West I think it'll be tough for the 9ers to finish on top.

They still have to play the Rams, Cards, and Seahawks each one more time. They just need to win division games and they will be fine.

Easier said then done. Don't you think the Seahawks and Rams are thinking the same thing. At best the 49ers can finish 9-7.
Lets give one win to the 49ers after playing the Packers and Chargers. Going to be tough to get a win on the road in either one of these games but give them the benefit of the doubt.
That puts them at 5-8...Now out of the 3 division games left they have to at best go 2-1 to put their record at 7-9.
If a 7-9 49ers team makes the playoffs over the 2nd place in the NFC South, East, or North than thats pathetic.

Niners will be two games back after next week, so there's no point wondering what could be. They will lose at Green Bay. Seattle and St.Louis should both win. They're still a long shot to contend here.

Anyone coming out of the West is pathetic. The whole offseason is going to be a bitch n moan about how a below .500 team made the playoffs when team xyz sitting 2-3 games above .500 didn't have an opportunity.
---------------
Niners will need to sweep those division games to get in.

Needed 4 points from Gore to win my game. At least he won one for me on the way out. Thanks Frank.
