with the 3rd string qb tyler thigpen in for the dolphins who didnt look to bad against a good titans team and the bears coming off a victory against the lowly vikings...is this a safe enough play knowing the bears defense is up against a 3rd stringer and possibly can manage a couple turnovers???? i thiknk so let me have some feedback though

Here are some key notes that I like that go against your statements:

-Bears are traveling on a short week. Their D won't be up to their norm.
-Jay Cutler hasn't had a been as bad as normal the last two weeks - and the Bears just barely squeeked by in those games. Miami has a much better pass rush than the Vikings and Bills (almost as many sacks as both teams combined) so I think they will generate enough pressure to make Jay Cutler turn it over 3 times.
-Tyler Thigpen isn't very bad. He doesn't turn the ball over, and he is good on the run - something he'll need to be against a solid Bears pass rush.

I agree Eric. Dolphins are the play here. Thigpen is very much a capable back up. Miami has the better defense and running attack. They'll be able to control the pace and eek out a victory. Cutler will not be able to throw all over the Dolphins especially when they don't have to respect the run. Dolphin's D will be able to pin their ears back and make life hell for Cutler. Bears are the square play, public is hammering them. Always a sign for me to play the other side. Miami 23-17

I think the right play here is to tease the dolphins and the over. This would give you dolphins +4.5 and over 34.5.

I don't care that the public is on the bears, chi is still the right side, good defense and o line starting to come around, the dolphins are not a good enough team to rely on a qb managing the game

Miami's center Joe Berger has been ruled OUT. They're going to start Cory Proctor who hasn't played center since 2007 with Dallas. And he's going to snap to a 3rd stringer who has barely played. Jake Long might start....with a massive shoulder harness to "protect" a torun labrum. Are you kidding me? If you bet on this, you're going wonder what the heck you were thinking come Thursday night.

I've been tagging the Bears and will add now. They are going to be closing favorites in this, I think.

just to point out that their is a great trend on 2nd or 3rd string qb's replacing a injured 1st string on covering the spread. The opposing team usually takes them lightly, and everyone on the dolphins knows they have to play 110%.

taking a team who has a back up starting for the first time has been great for me this season.

I'm on the fins as well. Yes their starting center will be out but as we saw last Sunday thigpen is very capable of throwing on the run. The bears have to be the shakiest 6-3 team I've seen in a while.
