#2Any reason to take the vikings?? There are plenty of games on the board, and this one is WAY too inconsistent and way too many variables. Stay AWAY!Comment -

#7hey, I know Favre is a legend, but that poor bastard is so beat up right now, its hard to take them this week. I love the guy, dont get me wrong, but after coming off of a HUGE emotional win last week, I think the 41 year old tank just may be empty.........but then again, #4 is full of surprises.
Chicago barely beating Buffalo last week should be looked at a bit deeper than the surface. Buffalo is VERY desperate for a win and willl play ANY team tough right now (because of this, I might throw a unit or 2 on the DET-BUF game this weekend). I am not sold on Chicago, but my numbers tell me that Chicago is still the better team........maybe only by about a field goal, but they are 2-0 vs their division, while Minny is 0-4 on the road.....Comment -

#11You have to think the Minny d-line gets to Cutler often although it looked like Allen was benched for part of the game against the Cards.Comment -

I think Peppers has a breakout game versus Vikes this week. He got their left tackle benched last year while playing for Carolina.
Plenty of better games to pick from than this toss up.Comment -

#25I'm not playing this game, I just can't get my mind around all the angles.
The Vikes looked awesome for the last 1/4 of the game last week against the Cards, but they looked terrible for the first 3/4.
The weather will be cold and damp in Chicago on Sunday, which would be perfect for a younger Favre, but not creaky old Favre.
What about Chicago? I have no faith that they've got their offensive issues worked out, especially against a capable D like Minny.
This will be an awesome game to watch because it'll go a long way to tell which direction both of these teams is headed. No play.Comment -

#26I'd wait to see if Percy Harvin and Sidney Rice are playing. So far from what I've seen Harvin is questionable/doubtful and Rice is questionable. If both players are out I would strongly considering taking Chicago at home. They're very good against the run, ranked 3rd in the league, which should allow them to keep Peterson in check. Minnesota is 0-4 away and simply can't be trusted at home. As I watched the Bills-Bears game last week, the Bills blitzed often, but the Bears surprisingly did a nice job of picking it up the blitz. This may be a start to finally figuring out some of their line issues, not to mention the Vikings D-line is overrated. They are not the same wrecking crew as in years past. On the other hand I think Julius Peppers will have a huge game and force Favre into some ill advised throws. The public is overreacting after the Vikings 4th quarter come back last week. They still played horribly sloppy for three quarters and against a good Bears defense at home there will be no 14 point comeback.
Bottom line: I wouldn't advise making a play on this game, but I would lean Chicago if Harvin is out and Rice is limited, combined with some of the above factors.Comment -

#35One nice thing for Vikings backers, their performance this year has moved the line away from them. Ordinarily, the Vikings would be laying over 7 points going to Chicago. Chicago has overperformed and Minny has underperformed. Do both teams continue this trend or do they regress towards the norm? Chicago might win this one, but they're going to have to come out and play in a way they haven't really shown so far this year by limping away with narrow victories against mediocre teams. There's decent value in taking the Vikings here.Comment
