9.20.10: Saints-49ers OVER 43.5 [-110]
Going with another full game tonight. A slightly generous line I think early in the season here because of the lack of points in the Saints-Vikings game last week. If we'd see the explosion of points most expected, this total would probably have been hung several points higher. Saints only put up 14, but they also shanked a couple of FGs so they left some points on the field. Defensively, I'm not sure if New Orleans was that solid or if as we saw again this week, Minnesota just isn't that good. Niners can be expected to put forth a much better effort tonight offensively IMO. Good thing is Alex Smith still proved to be easily rattled, so turnovers could be the name of the game again for the Saints D today. Saints offense should be licking their chops seeing as Seattle's mediocre offense controlled them easily.

9.25.10: Central Michigan-Northwestern OVER 25.5 [-110]
Both teams extremely efficient through the air in a 13-13 tie at the half. CMU in particular is not interested in running the ball it seems, while Northwestern has rushed the ball about half their plays with no success. Aerial show should help keep the clock stopped potentially more without the running.

9.25.10: UCLA-Texas UNDER 21 [-115]
This is an ugly defensive battle where all 16 points so far have been set up by turnovers. Neither offense has done much of anything with UCLA unable to do anything in the air and Texas forced to dink and dunk in their passing attack. Texas trails 13-3 here and will need to something to avoid a monumental upset although the Horns definitely are not as good as their ranking at this point anyhow. Turnovers figure to be a big focal point of both coaches at the half, so perhaps they won't set up as many short fields in the 2nd half. In any case, I'd expect UT to pitch close to a shut out in an effort to avoid the loss and come up with a tight win.

9.26.10: Texans-Cowboys OVER 47 [-110]
If Dallas can't get their offense untracked against a very iffy Texans defense, then they probably need to fire some people. Houston's pass defense has been horrible so far and was bashed by a Washington aerial attack that was not on display against Dallas in Week 1. Romo & his receivers should find openings, especially if they can figure a way to balance in and produce some rushing yards. Houston's offense has been solid and has found ways to score each week. Schaub figures to be under fire again, but he showed great poise in Week 2 and Andre Johnson will be in the lineup.

Texas was awful. They could not stop the run for anything. Still almost was able to stave points off until Texas hit a big pass play in garbage time and wound up scoring to go over. Oh well, onto Sunday.

Believe the Giants will be paying particular attention to the defensive side of the ball today because of their poor performance against Indy last week. Titans defense has been solid so far this season an I would expect them to show strong again today. I think this one ends in the high 30s or very low 40s.

Niners have not been able to run, so I think if they go more to the air they can find success. Chiefs have moved the ball, but are not finishing drives right now. Looking for more form both teams.

I think the offenses are evenly inept with Gradkowski piloting Oakland and Anderson for the Cardinals. I think the difference is defense where the Raiders have shown better early this season. Arizona was absolutely pounded by Atlanta last week for over 400 yards of offense. Oakland has to prove they can play well on the road, but if they can get McFadden and the ground game going to help Gradkowski, they should keep this close and possibly take it outright.

Points being left on the field a lot here. Chargers have moved the ball, but failed to convert key plays. Expecting them to step up. Seattle has passed at-will against San Diego, but must finish drives.

No running games for either team, so the clock should be stopping more in the 2nd half. Both teams have left some points on the field by not finishing drives or turning it over while moving into scoring position. Turnovers look like they could loom as something big in the 2nd half, especially with Cutler being pressured so much.

Aggies moved the ball at-will in the 1st half through the air and on the ground. Good aggressive defense leading to turnovers too which should continue to yield potential short field situations. Think the Cowboys found a little bit on offense late in the half and would expect them to show much better in the 2nd half.

10.3.10: Eagles-Redskins OVER 43 [-110]
I'm still not sold on the Eagles defense and I think McNabb is going to TRY and have a big game. If the Redskins gave up big points to the Rams, I think they'll give up big points to Philadelphia. Skins defense has not been getting nearly enough publicity for how bad they are. Vick & McNabb will also both likely try to do a little too much at times, meaning turnovers and short fields.

Atlanta at home against a 49ers team in total disarray. Might be a small tendency to let down after beating the Saints, but being at home should help alleviate that. Colts are on the road against the Jags who arguably could be the worst team in the league right now. Jags lack the firepower to keep up with the Colts and their defense looks incapable of stopping the machine that is Peyton Manning.

Huskies left points on the field, turning the ball over on downs twice in ASU territory. Sun Devils have carved up Washington's D through the air and have yet to take advantage on the ground where they could produce even more. They have moved the ball well on four of their five possessions with three resulting in TDs.
