The Vikings win less than 10 games this year
Looking closely at the Vikings Schedule I am really trying to be optimistic to say they win 11 games.

I will break it down in my thoughts below.

    A) Incredibly Tough Road Schedule
    B) Farve's ankle injury
    C) Missing Percy Harvin (I don't want to jump to conclusions, its very sad, but I think his career is in major jeopardy) I said last year to a bunch of friends that I believed it was over.

Now lets look at their schedule.

1 Thu, Sept 9 at New Orleans 8:30 PM
LOSS 0-1 (Couldn't be a harder game to start the season, Farve rusty - BLOW OUT NO FAVOR)

    2 Sun, Sept 19 Miami 1:00 PM
WIN 1-1 (Although I think Miami is very improved I see the Vikings pulling this game out late after a chad Henne mistake)

    3 Sun, Sept 26 Detroit 1:00 PM
WIN 2-1 (I think Min shows some firepower here and puts it to the Lions)

5 Mon, Oct 11 at NY Jets 8:30 PM
LOSS 2-2 (Farve's return to NY will be a bad one. RYAN blitzes all night long and the Jets thump MIN)

    6 Sun, Oct 17 Dallas 4:15 PM
LOSS 2-3 (Revenge game for DALLAS, I think Dallas win in a dramatic National Fox 4 PM Sunday game)

7 Sun, Oct 24 at Green Bay 8:20 PM
LOSS 2-4 (At this time in the Season I feel GB will be 5-1 due to their extremely weak early season schedule. GB will be up 3 games attempting to make it 4 games and Rogers will put the pressure on Min Secondary.)

8 Sun, Oct 31 at New England 4:15 PM
LOSS 2-5 (This is the week mid season where you might hear some turmoil coming from the Vikings locker room reference Childress and Farve disagreeing in reference to play calling. This said Minny's head will not be in the game and will get thumped hard by the PATS.)

    9 Sun, Nov 7 Arizona 1:00 PM
WIN 3-5 (Min will get healthy vs the hapless Cards)

10 Sun, Nov 14 at Chicago 1:00 PM
WIN 4-5 (Min will string back to back victories together at Soldier Field)

11 Sun, Nov 21 Green Bay 1:00 PM
WIN 5-5 (This game could be the hardest to predict for the year. GB will be coming off of a BYE and HEALTHY. I will give the benefit of the doubt to the Vikings, but I WOULD not be surprised to see the Packers sweep the Vikings).

12 Sun, Nov 28 at Washington 1:00 PM
LOSS 5-6 (Too difficult to put 4 wins in a row and by now Farve will start feel the season on his body. Also if they beat GB it will be the perfect time for a let down game.)

    13 Sun, Dec 5 Buffalo 1:00 PM
WIN 6-6 (They could beat the BILLS with Tavaris Jackson at the helm. NUFF SAID)

14 Sun, Dec 12 NY Giants 1:00 PM
WIN 7-6 (I will give them this victory as it is a must win for them by this time GB will be either be leading the division or hot on their heels)

    15 Mon, Dec 20 Chicago 8:30 PM
WIN 8-6 (Another must win for them)

16 Sun, Dec 26 at Philadelphia 1:00 PM
LOSS 8-7 (I believe Philly takes the game in a day after Christmas snow fest)

17 Sun, Jan 2 at Detroit 1:00 PM
WIN 9-7 (The final must win of the season most likely for the division title)

    FINAL RECORD 9-7 (WILD CARD)

Thats just my opinion guys, but I really feel strongly about this.

    What do you guys think????

I love the Green Bay Packers except for the backup QB Situation which of course they do not have. I have not studied them as hard as the Vikings, but will look them over and write something up tomorrow maybe.

      ONE THINGS THAT IS OBVIOUS.

      Packers toughest games
      AT HOME
      VIKINGS toughest games
      ROAD

Thats a 2 game difference in my opinion.

Vikings dont make the playoffs this year. thats my take. Grandpa Favre will be on crutches before midseason and their backups aren't taking them anywhere. I give them 8 wins at best.

I think Favre will get hurt

Harvin might not play all year with these migraines

Favre played the best football of his life last year, no way he is that good again.

Lucky for them they have the top RB in the game behind him.

their games vs Green Bay will decide who wins the division

Those first six games are rough, they play five teams with a very good chance of making the playoffs. If Favre can stay healthy maybe 10-6. They still have a good ground attack and the defensive line is very solid.I thought they were lucky to win 12 games last year. 2010 prediction is 9-7.

I am not so sure... you have them losing all but of thier tough games and then also losing to average at best Washington and Philadelphia. They deserve more credit then that in my opinion.

Farve acts like the ankle effects him but he just used it to get out of training camp...He is going to be healthy (he has not missed a game remember)

You have to remember that they played without their best defensive player EJ Henderson, Peterson struggled and they still won 12 games.

I see Minnesota winning at least 11 games (beating NE or Jets and Philly or Washington).

                  ONE THINGS THAT IS OBVIOUS.

As far as I can see the Packers and Vikings have the same schedule except Minnesota plays at New Orleans and Green Bay plays at Atlanta...so I don't think that is a fair statement.

Anyway, I think over 10 games is likely and winning the division again.

There could be an emotional letdown after last year. Plus that schedule. I wouldn't bet the under but its got a big shot.

The Packers and Vikings play the same schedule so who is the better team:

QB: Toss up - Farve more experience and Rodgers more upside
RB: Min - Peterson is arguably the best in the league
WR: Toss up - With Harvin out maybe edge Green Bay
OL: Min - One of Green Bay's weaknesses (29th in sacks allowed), also they are injury prone and old
DL: Min - Min 2nd in league last year and a major strength
LB: GB - Mathews is really good
DB: GB - Min weakness but GB looked awful at end of season

Looking at it I think Minnesota has the edge and are REALLY good at home (8-0) last year and they beat Green Bay in Green Bay last year. I have to think Minnesota wins the division.

I doubt they even win 9, they are not going 5-1 in division play

There is one problem i have with this if all goes the way you say fine.. but we know the scenario's you have mentioned due to injury's on all teams players getting arrested coaches not getting along with players qb injuries each year take many teams right out of the playoff picture teams that you say can be over 500 at the time can be winless if personal gets injured so i cant buy you picking games that far in advance it is hard enough to perdict out comes knowing all of the personal that day. NOW YOU HAVE DETERMINED EACH WEEK WHAT ALL TEAMS WILL DUE IMMPOSSIBLE MYABE ONE OR 2 GAMES ON THE SCHELDULE BUT EACH GAME THATS INSANE I ASK THE OTHER DAY THAT I KNOW FOR YEARS TO GIVE ME A RUNDOWN AND HE SAID .....IT TO TOUGH NOT KNOWING IF ALL OFF LINEMEN ARE PLAYING WHEN I KNOW THE PERSONAL THEN I KNOW SOMETHING BUT TO SAY GAME BY GAME EVEN 3 WEEKS FROM NOWIS NOT BEING A PRO AT ALL IT SHOWS IF ALL THINGS LINED UP PERFECT THEN THIS WOULD HAPPEN BUT THIS IS SPORTS THATS WHY THEY PLAY. KNOW ONE CAN PERDICT 5 GAMES DOWN THE LINE HOW DO YOU KNOW IF THEY HAVE THE FLU OR ATE SOME BAD GULF SHRIMP......OR HAVE A HANG OVER OR GET CAUGHT TAKING SOME STERIOD'S AND GET KICKED OUT FOR A FEW GAMES ALL THESE THINGS ARE THE HUMAN FACTOR THIS ISNT MADDEN FOOTBALL,,,,,SOUNDS GOOD BUT I BET IF YOU STAY WITH THAT ALL YEAR AND BET IT THERE WILL BE TIME YOU WILL SAY WELL I DONT LIKE IT NOW BECAUSE THIS IS NOW GOING ON.....IF WE KNEW WHAT WAS GOING ON 5 WEEKS FROM NOW WOW NOSTRODAMAS CAN YOU TELL ME WILL I WIN THE LOTTERY NEXT WEEK.

Well those 45 yard throws with no seconds left to the back of the end zone and miracle catches sure do help the record. I'd say 10-6 or 9-7 is legit

Of course I can not predict the future. What I am doing is capping the team just like Vegas does for a Win total. This is how it is done when they make projections. Of course it is just a projection, but don't act like I am just making stuff up. Las Vegas oddsmakers have the Vikings at 9.5 Wins. I have them at 9 but if I had to make a line I would make it 8.5. This is how I cap a team or a game to see if I am going to make a play.
