The media is not pumping them up, Rex Ryan is the one who doesn't know how to shut his mouth. This week he compared the loss to the Pats Monday as the same to the Bears loss to Miami in 85. This Jets team in no way should ever be compared to that Bears team.

Rex just does what he does. He puts the spotlight on himself and seems to take a lot of the pressure off the rest of the team. I give him credit for this: I don't keep up with the polls every year so I don't know results from the past few years, but about 5 years ago, Bill Belichek was voted by the players as the coach they would most want to play for. It led to a lot of decent role players like Randy Moss, Junior Seau, Corey Dillon etc. choosing NE over other options. And led to a lot of players resigning in NE even when they could've gone to greener pastures. Currently, Rex Ryan is tops on the list for coach the players would most like to play for. It may directly impact the team in the future as they could get more bargain basement prices on role players, same as what NE did during their Superbowl runs in the early part of the decade.

I haven't seen a list proclaiming Rex and the Jets as "The" place everyone wants to play. Maybe I missed it, is it because they have great Team buffets? My thoughts are, Rex puts a bullseye on his Team with his big mouth. He's not taking pressure off them with all his SB bullshit, he's putting it on them. Basically, he's writing checks, his team can't cash. JMO on it.

It's the Sports Illustrated NFL Players Poll.

              Rex Ryan, Jets 21%
              Mike Tomlin, Steelers 12%
              Sean Payton, Saints 9%
              Jeff Fisher, Titans 8%
              Bill Belichick, Patriots 7%
