could you comment on how lito sheppard madieu williams and tyrell johnson do enough to prevent the vertical passing game. What about frequent 4 and 5 wide sets drawing asher allen and IDK who else onto the field? Seems like they can spread the already pretty soft vikes secondary really really thin. Their screen game is impeccable and should be used extensively to stymie the pass rush. The saints have a clear weakness against power rushing teams but so much of their scheme compensates and not having to worry about Rice doing his Fitz impersonation for 40 yard gains, they should really be able to bring it. maybe i'd take the points, especially if they rise up closer to game time, but the moneyline seems like a homerish play. thoughts?

welcome to sbr bud. Anyway both these teams present matchup nightmares to their opponent. with rice out the viking still have an extremely talented passing game. plus a healthy offensive line which we didnt see the last time the vikings owned the saints (minus the fumbles). My biggest angle is the revenge factor attributed to this game. i will post an extensive writeup on this game tomorow. im out

The revenge factor is the biggest angle. Vikings have been waiting for the rematch, saints have been celebrating.
The vikings throughly outplayed the saints in the nfc championship. In fact the vikings lead all statistical catagories, yardage and t.o.p. by far. Favre's Sidney is out but this is a very deep squad, plus the addition of javon walker and camarillo is not going to hurt. shianco is his favorite target b.t.w. tight ends have always been his favorite. I expect peterson to lift most that weight anyway. This team is a power rushing football team. they pound the rock and keep brees off the field.

and the saints can run the vikes secondary very thin. but what team have they not? the real question is can they block this d-line stacked with 3 probowlers? probably, they did last matchup, but just like last match i expect the viking to hold this ground attack in check. So with the saints contantly in 2nd, 3rd & 10 there should be enough punts. Look im not saying this game is a lock but at +200 odds i'l take it every time and by the end of the season i will win better than 33% of these games.

i.m.o. this is true....not because of a superbowl hangover but..........because their opponetn is fired up to play the best so they can prove themselves......also.....vegas gives us a better lien because the public loves the superbowl winner.

Vikings O-line was banged up partway through last year. Also 2 rookies last year have another under their belt. adrian has prioritized pass blocking offseason since he is now an every down back.

also N.O. 1st string has played like dog crap this preseason. they are too talented to fall apart in regular season but they might start slow
