I think they got a shot to win the division as well. But Lance Long, c'mon that's a joke right. Try Dexter McCluster. They have to find a way to stop the run I think will be key. With Flowers and Berry I think the pass d could be a strength.

Hmm they could realisticly get to the bye week and be 3-0 and through week 9 they could have 6 wins already with their only losses coming to Indy and Houston on the road. If they can get to the half way point and be 6-2 it's not a reach for them win 10 or 11 games. I put the W's and L's beside the games they could win and lose.

You have them going undefeated at home? WOW!! Suffice it to say that I think that is hugely optimistic (and highly unlikely). But if I'm wrong, I will be happy to admit I'm wrong...

what everyone's missing here is that its possible . and it hasnt been for many years before this . i dont thing 11 wins i think more in the range of 8-10 , and a division win! either way should be a intresting season and thats all anyone can ask for. hopefully they go 16-0 ATS

As I said in the thread about the Skins...yes, it's POSSIBLE. The season hasn't started, everybody is 0-0, optimism is every where. I mean it's still POSSIBLE for the Bills and the Browns (if they don't play each other) to go 16-0, but I'd bet my entire 401K that they won't.

But if KC gets to 8-8, it will have been a helluva year.

Now, for all you guys who think the Chefs will either win 11 games or win the AFC West, make me an offer and let's get some money down on this because I don't think there is any way in hell they win 11 games or win the West.

Wherever Charlie Weis has been during his NFL career, the offenses have always been potent. Though a bit defensively challenged last year, if Romeo Crennel can get them to a pedestrian level they can do some damage. They play in the worst division in the AFC and this year the AFC West plays the NFC West, the worst division in the NFC. It could equal to a possible playoff birth. I am leaning toward 8-8, or 9-7 ...

I wondering if this guy joking, smoking dope while posting, trying to get SBR posters to unanimously concede the west to his beloved Chargers, or just trying to get headlines.

Since I'm pretty familiar with the AFC west, I have never my entire life of watching the AFC west see a team as dreadful as the Chief make such a transformation. From 4 wins to 11 wins. Never ever happened. No way they finish ahead of the Chargers. They'll fight with the Raiders and Broncos for 2nd place, with 5-6 wins maybe!

Chargers went from 4-12 in 2003 to 12-4 in 2004. I suspect you are more than 6 years old. Chiefs(And Raiders) have a VERY real chance to win the AFC West this year. Another good bet is Dexter McCluster to win Offensive rookie of the year. Guy is a walking highlight film.

They will improve but theres zero chance the Chargers lose the West, even without VJ this is still the best all -around Chargers team since 07; you gotta realize that they were essentially without a RB last season as LT took two steps and fell over after every carry. KC & Oakland certainly got better and can be around 8 or 9 wins, but the Chargers still sweep this division and win it by 3 or 4 games.

Oak & KC will battle it out for 2nd with Denver having an awful year

You can't really deny how bad Cassell played last year, he is also injury prone. They will be an improved team and should even hope for second in the AFC West but surely no playoffs yet.

I think the Chiefs have the most (AFC West) upside in the near future, but 11 wins this year is just silly.

They play San Fransisco, Indy, Houston, and Tennessee this year. I wouldn't put it past any combination of Seattle, Arizona, and Jacksonville/Buffalo to beat them as well. All AFC West games are a crapshoot, they'll lose at at least 2 division games on the road and probably another at home.

KC is a 6 or 7 win team, optimistically speaking. 8 wins would be great for them, projecting 11 wins is jumping the gun.
