Dez Bryant didnt think this one through

All these people that support what Dez Bryant did...Why should he not of carried his pads? Every other rookie has done it...Dez says " I wasn't drafted to carry pads, i was drafted to play football" How many catches has he had in the NFL? what has he done to prove himself? He's just as big of a bust as Roy Williams right now, Dez hasn't proved himself at all.

Dez hasn't earned any respect yet, and won't until he shows himself as the real deal in the league.

Hazing is stupid. period. He isn't joining a fraternity to get cheap housing. Let's focus on learning routes and playing football rather than what some veteran who is gonna basically disposable and out of the league very soon doing some petty bs.

I'm not sure if carrying shoulder pads qualifies as hazing. You know they only weigh a few ounces.

like i said if it was anyone but Roy Williams i would agree. Problem is Dez got drafted to take this scrubs job not carry his pads and i would have told him exactly that....ive seen Dez actually catch the ball before so he has a leg up on Roy already....Id be damned if i would be a pad boy for some never has been scrub that pissed away talent, now if it was a proven vet that has done anything in his career besides steal paychecks then i may have a different answer....

He probably should have, but Williams should have kept in in house instead of crying like a little b#thc to the media like he did last year when he was complaining that Romo wasnt throwing him the ball correctly. I didnt see Whitten or Austin having any problem catching

Hazing is to see if they are going to be a team player; it doesn't represent someone being a b1tch or not. Like people have said, they do it in all sports. If you look at the offensive line, they usually do some of the worse hazing, but they are some of the toughest guys on the field.

I dont know what happened. If I was there to replace a guy, I would not carry his shit. I would carry mile austin pads. I would have run over to pick mile austin's pads up just so I wouldnt have to carry roy williams' pads. If Roy is not there Dez gets a better deal.

The NFL is the biggest fraternity that anybody who has ever played football would ever want to join. Every rookie has had his balls busted just for being a rookie. It is a time honored tradition that stems back years before this peice of shit was even a thought of. You'd think that Dez would want to keep the spotlight off himself after the negative publicity (that wasn't that well deserved) in the offseason. The right attitude, imo, would be to carry his pads while thinking to yourself about how you're going to have that guy's job in a couple months. Be the bigger man and deal with the little things that come with being a rookie. If he can't even deal with that, how's he going to put up with Romo throwing it to Witten every down even when he gets open? Probably not very well.

This is Dez Bryant's way of saying, "It's on!". I think he plans on taking Roy's job from day 1.

I know Roy hasn't done much in Dallas, but remember that he was a pro bowler just a few years ago, putting up 1300 yards in 2006. Roy has caught 37 TDs in the NFL over his career. Maybe he is underachieving for a #7 overall draft pick, but he's no chump and no bust.

Personally, I think Bryant is biting off quite a bit here. As others have said, football is all about brotherhood. He's forcing other players in that locker room to pick a side. What has he done to win players over to his side? He's treading dangerous water here.

those of you who have never been on a TEAM other than HS this is common practice to make that a team. You show respect to those who have done the same in the past.
