carrying his pads seems like an easy task. maybe that's not all they require of him, but its about showing you teammates that you're part of the group and on the same level as the other rookies. I remember a story about jeremy shockey refusing to stand up and sing some song at a team dinner - he then got in a fight with one of the other vets.

Guys, this kinda stuff goes on in all sports...

In baseball, the rookie relievers are responsible for carrying the ballbag to the bullpen every day.
In basketball, the freshmen are responsible for carrying the bag of basketballs on road trip.
When I coached Dixie Youth baseball (11 and 12 year olds), the 11's carried the team bag.

Rooks have been carrying vets pads in training camp for YEARS. Its no different than having to get up and sing your school fight song at team meals.

as a cowboy's fan, this is what i like to see in a rookie. a guy that doesn't want to be told what to do and is there to win games. he will get respect and be part of the team when he makes brilliant catches and big plays. he looks like the earlier leader for rookie of the year.

and its hard to see how he can be egotistical when he is the first 1st rounder to sign(i think) for what appears to be a relatively modest sum.

This guy has been a waste of talent scrub every since joining the league and if i was Dez i would have told his never has been ass to get the fuk out my face...Roy says "it vets jobs to tutor the rooks, and rooks jobs to carry the pads", well that is fine if you actually have accomplished anything, honestly if i was the coach i wouldnt want that slacker trying to teach my rookies shit....

Nothing wrong with taking a stand. Hazing is for HS not the pro's. Bryant could simply tell his teammates he don't approve of it and will not be a party to it and furthurmore if anybody that don't like it can whoop his ass. I would tell the "veterans" I ain't gonna do it. You can challenge my manhood and one of us might get our ass kicked but I ain't carrying shit. Like that.

i just cant find a scenario of why roy thinks he can tell anyone anything. I am sure there are people on the cowboys that would agree with that and maybe sided with Dez. But, now with dez comments saying how he "wouldnt carry anyones bag, he is just here to win a superbowl" makes him look bad. Because if someone on that team who had a right, told him to carry his bag, he should carry them.

Hilarious dez thinks just because cowboys took a stab at him and jones compared his situation to moss, he is going to make an impact. Rookie WR dont do shit in the nfl, its easily the position with the most disparity from college. Right now he is just another first round WR, nothing special.
