I have to pass on Houston now that they lost Cushing for the first 4 games, two of which are at home against Indy and Dallas. That is a huge hit to the defense.

I think the way they split the odds between the 4 teams and the way they offer money on these bets, they really favor the house way more than they should. To pick between 2 or 3 teams and get less than even odds plus a long shot or two that could win it... Seems like not much value. On a side note, if I had to bet anything, a small play on KC or Detroit doesn't seem that horrible. It is the NFL. Every year we say, "didn't see that shit coming". Both teams have filled alot of holes with some top picks and trades. Just my 2 cents.

What if Favre doesn't come back, and Rogers gets a bad sack? Two very possible things. 20 to 1 is lookin' pretty good in my book.

No real value with these. Baltimore does look solid tho. Maybe bet 2 Units on SF and 1 on Seahawks for NFC West for some pretty sure money.

The most likely to repeat is San Diego, by far. They play in the worst division in the NFL. They have absolutely no competition in that division.

Dallas has had incredibly good luck with injuries over the last few years. With Marion Barber showing his age and Doug Free as a question mark at left tackle, we'll see how it works out.

The Chiefs will finish ahead of Denver but SD -250 is a lock, don't throw away money on any of the AFC west dogs, the Broncos couldn't even win the division when they were 8-5 and the Chargers were 5-8.

BigDaddy how are the Saints Defense poor ??? They had big time injuries last year on defense that made them look bad statistically, but overall they were a damn good defense. In the playoffs they were 100% healthy and shut 3 high powered offense down.
** That poor defense beat **
                            1) Warner
                            2) Brady
                            3) Favre
                            4) Manning

please don't underestimate them. Just like they sealed the deal with the pick 6 in the superbowl they been doing that all year.

They led the whole league in takeaways and also abused QB's all year.

They also have probably the best starting corner tandem in the league with Greer and Porter. Two shut down corners that are severly underrated.

That poor defense also held the Colts to 17 points....

one stat to keep a eye when looking at one years performance versus nexts years performance is the "turnover ratio"... no team ever leads that category year in year out.. last year Green Bay lead the league by a wide margin GB was +24 i dont see them doing that again(2.Philly +15, 3.Saints +11, .4 Ravens +10 are more doable numbers)

hope this link works... from NFL.com stats...

i'm not saying this cause i'm a viking fan!! haha... of course the teams with the better records have the better turnover ratio what i'm saying is if 1 team has a ratio that is not in the norm it will be very difficult to repeat that...

some more facts about division winners from 2009 - 2002(under the present format)
AFC East - NE Pats has won 7 of 8 titles... afc east has turned over 2 times in 8 years
AFC North - turns over almost ever year 5 times in 8 years
AFC South - Indy has won 6 of 7 titles - turned over 3 times in 8 years
AFC West - SD has won last 4 years - turned over 4 times from 2002-2005
NFC East - has turned over 5 times in last 5 years, before that Philly had won 3 in a row
NFC North - strange only 3 div turnovers in 8 years GB won 3 years in a row then Chic 2 in a row, now vikes 2 in a row
NFC South - new champ ever year
NFC West - this is a bit shocking only 3 turnovers in 8 years (thats becuase Seattle won the div from 2004 - 2007)

I totally agree with your logic. It's the Steelers syndrome, winning a SB and then underachieving and missing the playoffs.

The Saints are in a way better situation than the Steelers. The Steelers won the Superbowl that year with a not so good oline. Everyone knows that will catch up with you.

The Saints will be the new Colts. They are a offensive machine with a new defensive cordinator that have them playing with a edge to knock every QB out. This will be a dynasty. Count that and bump it !!

No one can stop that offense. Way to many weapons !
