First off you can't blame your kicker for missing the 57 yard field goal try (not many kickers can hit that far). The offense should have done a better job instead of having to kick field goals. Second the Jets defense did a great job forcing the Chargers into situations they can't handle. Third you did not give us the game, we came into your house and took it away.

Norv Turner will probably be fired this week. In a result driven industry getting to the playoffs isn't enough. I thought he was some "offensive genius"? Constantly handing the ball of to L.T. for one-yard gains on first-down won't get it done.

You are right, Norv might get fired. The guy wins 11 games in a row and they show him the door. sheesh.

It is amazing how little respect the team with the best defense in football gets.
I will say the same thing this week I said last week (substituting Colts for Chargers): Jets win ATS at +7.5 or more, Colts win SU.
That said, another outright upset would not shock me in the least.

Chargers "choked" because Jets defense made them choke. This was not an AFC West defense they were facing.

couldn't agree with LT more.. jets are just a tougher team.. and had a tougher road going into that game them SD.. i was split on this game yesterday up untill 30 mins till game time and i just realized Jets D would get it done if not keep it close.. i expect a similar game next weekend.. Jets 14 to Colts 17.. something like that.. jets might even pull the upset..

Who cares how the Jets won it! I've been hearing for 4 weeks now how the Jets were "handed" wins. As a Jet fan, I don't really care how we win, as long as we win! All the cry babies are the ones who lost money or are fans who's teams will be watching this weekend! If they lose, then they lose! I've already made way more money than I will lose when they finally do go down.

If Norv gets fired over this, it's a shame. Can't hang this loss on him.

I'm a Charger fan, and trust me, Nate Kaeding didn't throw the game.
He just sucks.
I was there in 04 the first time vs the Jets...the sad thing is both times I thought the field goals were good...lol

It's a tough task for any team to go into Indy and win, let alone a rookie QB, even though I have been a USC and Sanchez fan for several years. I llike Rex Ryan and Shonn Greene (One of the best college RB's in a long time, 100 yds given per game at Iowa) as well. Indy will have to beat Indy here. The Jets will not beat Indy without subpar play by Indy on this Sunday. Peyton threw 2 picks (One in the books) Saturday and I don't forecast him to repeat that in back2back playoff weeks. On any given Sunday though, but it will take turnovers by Indy for the Jets to win, IMO. Hard to handicap that.

Lol if he made 1 the game would've been tied at least and if he made 2 then they prob would've won but Rivers int really hurt them as well.

If Indy held the Ravens to 3 points, they certainly can hold the Jets to 3 points.

I know one thing for sure. If the Jets blitz Manning like they did Rivers, he will have a field day. Chargers had no clue for the blitz. Their receivers were not even turning around for the ball. The Chargers were outcoached but Manning is the coach of his offense.

Number of games Jets have lost by 5 or less, combined with the number of games the Colts have won by 5 or less, points to this being close.

you are a very wise man. I've been fading the colts for a solid 9 games based on their close/lucky break wins, except for the 2 "half-assed games". I went 0-6-1

But the Jets DEFENSE can frustrate the Colts and allow the Jets to get good field position, something the Ravens did not do. The Jets should do more offensively then the Ravens did if for no other reason, they will have shorter fields to work with.

when will people see that manning beats the books! manning is the king! dont go against him because sanchez is playing good. when he gets a taste of the best quarterback who ever played he will have to play from behind something he wont be able to handle. manning will pick pick pick apart the jets until they have 14-20 point lead. take the colts and dont think about this one.

I will take the best defense in football over the best quarterback in football any day. The two cliches, "Defense Wins Championships" and "Goof defense will stop good offense" are both very true.

Ravens played terrible last week, turning ball over at worst possible times. Worst was Reed interception where he fumbled the ball right back inside Colts 20.
Jets will protect the ball much better.

I think Balt did alot better than the Jets in the turnover game this year. But hey, you KNOW that the jets will protect the ball better. ok

I thought you were referring specifically to last week's game, and the Ravens were terrible. It is very easy for any offense to play better than the Baltimore offense did last week.

LT,
I don't know how old you are but in the 1984 NFC Championship it was the great Bears defense against the "finesse" SF 49ers w/Joe Montana! The Bears hoped to pound away w/Walter Payton and play suffocating D to go on to the SB! Unfortunately for Chicago...SF had a HOF QB and a underrated top 10 D too! The final was 20-something to 0! I doubt the Jets get shut out but they won't get over 13 points imo!

How many points the Jets score in this game is entirely dependent on how great their defense plays, as you are right in that they won;t have any long tine-consuming drives and will have to rely on the defense giving them good field position.
That said, Colts 20-13 still makes Jets ATS a winner.

And I remember that game well, it was a bitterly cold day in Chicago (in January?.....go figure) and yet the 49ers closed as around a 2-point favorite.
