Last season on a Thursday night game SD upset the Broncos. At Denver.

I feel like the revenge angle is always so convenient. You mean to tell me that Peyton is still sour over a meaningless Thursday game mid/late season last year? And even if he is, that it matters?

Yet, Philip Rivers and the entire Chargers team has their season end at the hands of the Broncos on this very field and there's no revenge angle there?

Did you ever consider that last year's playoff game in Denver against the Chargers, a division team that had just beaten them in Denver a month prior, was the revenge game for the Broncos?

And this is all based on the assumption that the revenge factor has any affect on the outcome of a game.

To recap:

• lose regular season game, later defeat same team in the playoffs en route to the Super Bowl = MUST HAVE REVENGE NEXT SEASON

• face team that ended your season last year = no revenge

Chargers look good this year, better then last but so does Denver, better off betting the over especially with the trend of overs hitting so frequently

Can you show me these articles? Also is one of those players Peyton Manning? Because you said specifically Peyton Manning wanting revenge. I really dont think revenge on the Chargers for a loss on a thursday night last year, given that the Broncos did knock them out of the playoffs last season is high on Peyton Manning's list of importance. And saying being better prepared this time doesnt equate to revenge...but I do get where you are coming from. Again, this is still an important game than I believe Broncos wins but not confident they cover.

Dissecting this ONE angle is really not worth the effort is it?

there is no handicapping here just like most games. chargers +9.5 (only because of teasers) is the smart play. there is no other play on the side that makes any sense. all the love and dikkk sucking for manning is inflating this line obviously. good luck!

I'm on the Chargers, but I can assure you it has nothing to do with revenge and everything to do with these teams usually playing tight games.

We think more on the lines of revenge games than the players do. You guys see them before & after the games hugging on each other smiling like its just another game to them. This is a hard one to pick but my personal opinion is SD is in the best spot to cover. May come down to the last drive of the game. Manning had an unbelievable passing percentage last game. He's the best of all time considering half his passes are ducks. SD +9x covering late in the 4th
