If you die and go to hell, you come back on Earth as one of Andy Reid's toilets. I think one underdog covers this week and one favorite covers. Warner handles the blitz pretty well and this Cardinal team will be different than the one on Thanksgiving day. Cards +4 for me

philly wins this game... Carol gave that game away. AZ hasn't seen the type of pressure that philly will bring, philly has a much better secondary than carol or atl... only chance AZ has, is if they get off quick and put a bunch of pts on the board, forcing mcnabb to try and make plays (and thus make mistakes)... if westbrook is less than 75% and boldin is close to 100%, AZ has a chance... but i think philly pulls away late and coves.

I'm not going to continue to defend the Cards, it's not like I see it as the bet of the decade, but I just think that everyone is dismissing the Cardinals too quickly while overlooking the constant struggles of the Eagles.
Eagles looked pretty good dismantling the world champs on the road last weekend. Eagles looked very good taking apart the Vikings on the road two weeks ago. Eagles looked damned good destroying the Cowboys in a virtual playoff game week 17. I'd say the Eagles are on quite a roll.

Most importantly, I've never seen McNabb look better than last week in a clutch game. When McNabb is right, nobody is better. His only knock has been that he chokes in big games. There wasn't much bigger than a playoff game on the road against the world champs as a dog, no less. McNabb actually lives in Phoenix in the offseason, so this might be a virtual homecoming game for him. I've got my money on McNabb, that's not even entering the discussion of the nastiest Philly D they've had since McNabb came to Philly.

          1. The Cowboys game. OK, I was definitely impressed by that, although the Cowboys and Romo are overrated and have huge chemistry problems on the field. They definitely looked like they just didnt care in that game. But either way, ok that was impressive.

          2. The Vikings game. Are you really impressed by that? The Vikings shouldn't have even made the playoffs. Their coaching sucks. And Tarvaris Jackson is absolutely nothing to write home about. And if I remember correctly, that was a close game for quite a while until Philly pulled away.

          3. The Giants game. Giants were what, 1-4 or 1-5 since Plaxico has been gone? Personally I never thought it would make the difference like it did but it quite obviously hurt the offense. Giants were on a downslide for quite a while and Eagles were just there to finish it off.

So yeah, maybe they are 'on a roll', but couldn't you say the same for every other playoff team who's been winning their last few games to remain in the playoffs...

I don't think the Cowboys are overrated as far as talent or even coaching. I do think there are chemistry problems on that team. Even so, this was a virtual playoff game and Dallas came in at 9-6, which is a better record than the Cards came into the playoffs with. Dallas had a tough schedule and played some tough games. It's not fair to say they are a bad team in any way. Saying they didn't care about that game, maybe after the scoreboard started looking like a slot machine that just hit the jackpot. I'm sure they started that game fired up with their season on the line.

The Vikings have a lot of talent with AP and a great defense. I agree that Childress isn't the greatest coach and Tavaris has a lot to prove in his young career, but the team still went 10-6 and deserved to be in the playoffs every bit as much as the Cardinals or the Chargers.

Wrong, the Giants went 4-3 without Plax, and one loss was basically a meaningless game week 17 with David Carr finishing up. You can't tell me that the Giants lost that game because Plax wasn't there.

As for any Giants downslide, what if the Cards had to go on the road to face the Giants last week? Do you seriously think they could've won that game? No way in hell.

Well no matter what, I think there's money to be made in the other game, not this one. This game is too hard to figure out who is hotter, and who is going to show up wanting it more. So for me, my Arizona bet is a conservative play, but my Pittsburgh bet will be a good bit stronger.

The NFL will not put Arizona in the SuperBowl against Pittsburg or the Ravens. Its just not going to happen.
When everything is said and done everybody wants to see Pitt vs Phil. Philadelphia can get pressure with its front four. That is what they did in the first matchup. There was two people on Boldin and Fitgerald. They were daring Arizona to rush the ball. When they rush the passer they will stop the run on the way there. The Arizona RB are not even close to the Giants RB believe me

Why does everyone keep bringing up the east coast on the Cardinals and are shocked about that game last week? Was a 8pm game at night last weekend rather a 1pm Sunday thing like the rest of the regular season. 10am old time or 5pm old time, makes a difference.

You would do yourself a favor by throwing out the Thanksgiving game. The Cards sucked on the East coast all season. (Until the playoffs, which, as mentioned, was a big surprise to me). I think I have a pretty good feel for this team, and said the same thing in this thread about their Atlanta game. *broken link* Arizona was the early 3 pt dog, but the line closed with them as faves. That won't happen this week, because the public has embraced the Eagles.

Arizona has too many highly effective players for a defense to contain. Not just Fitzgerald and Boldin. I mentioned Tim Hightower, who, at that time with 10 TD's (!), was nowhere mentioned in the previews. Hightower has had TD's in each of the last two games. They give the ball to him in the red zone and he'll run it in. Warner also throws it to Breaston a lot, and to Urban. Too many targets to contain. The recent addition of the running game has also improved their defense, because they get more time to rest. And I like what I've seen from the O-line.

The roof will be closed. This will increase the crowd noise to where the Eagles offense will absolutely not be able to hear itself. The Atlanta coach, after his team was eliminated, specifically called the Cardinals organization to tell them that the crowd noise had made a big difference and had intimidated his players.

As to the Eagles. I didn't see a dominant team against a very marginal Vikings team led by Tarvaris Jackson. Their two wins over the Eagles were impressive, but I don't see a whole lot more there than that they had the Giants number (without Plaxico). There was no credible deep threat. That makes it a lot easier for the defense. It was an ideal match-up situation. They did drop a must-win (!) game late in the season at Washington, so -at least to me- the Eagles are somewhat overrated. And the Cards are still underrated.

                        The Cardinals can self-destruct, however.

Lets not forget that the only reason the Eagles are even here is that my totally pathetic bumblers from Oakland, the Raiders decided for some reason to play football the last week of the season. So Philly is playing with house money.

this eagles team will not come in over confident, like the panthers did...
as long as mcnabb doesn't make killer mistakes, take the birds...
win by 2 scores? who is gonna get these scores man, the unidentifiable WR's or the injured RB??? we all know mcnabb can't throw the ball past 14 yards, so that's gonna be alot of dinking and dunking. Not saying Arizona is a lock to win, but I think -3.5 and above is a sucker bet. If you are one of the people that think that Philly rolls here because "arizona has no D" and "they destroyed them on thanksgiving" you are using square logic. good luck....

Not just Oakland, but the Texans had to beat the Bears also. Philly had to have two games fall right just to have a virtual playoff game against Dallas week 17.
