The problem with that is that they got blown out, 30-10, by San Diego. If they were clearly the better team, shouldn't they have won that game? Then we wouldn't have this issue.
Exactly, and please don't forget NE had the easiest schedule this year. There 11 wins were not against good teams

Oh ok... I get that logic...
Ok so since the Jets beat the Titans they should be in the playoffs instead right?

Havent heard that one in a long time!!!
When I was an intern working 100+ hours a week, on call every second or third night, I had an attending who would come in with that line the next morning. Sure bring back a lot of less than pleasant memories!

Unit,
You could be more wrong about this, but you'd have to get up earlier in the morning...
This is not unprecendented in the NFL. It's happened before and it will almost certainly happen again and they're not going to change the rule...so you should just build a bridge and get over it!
And if you're incapable of getting over it, I suggest you call Roger Goddell and talk with him about it!

The NFL needs to make a rule that guarantees future 11-win teams a playoff spot against the #2 seed in the wild card round. I guess it sucks for the #2 seed, losing their bye week, but it's the simplest solution I can imagine. It probably won't happen again for another 20 years anyway.

no dude, you need to suck it up. there is a playoff SYSTEM there for a reason. every year there is a team with a >.500 record who gets left out of the playoffs. quit blaming the system because the pats couldn't get it done. you sound like a child

I agree that it sux that the Pats didn't make it.It's bad luck. The pat beat the Cardinals 47-7.Also smashed the Broncos which were a win away. But still. They have nobody to blame but themselves. The blowout at home that they suffered against the Dolphins earlier this year sealed the deal.
