Why would you buy a half point on a 9 point spread? That is the dumbest thing in the world. Who the **** with common gambling sense buys a half point down on a favorite unless it's to hit a key number like -3 or -7 which means the line was 3.5 or 7.5 and they bought the hook. You're not buying the hook. You're just flat out buying a half point on a 9 point spread to bring it to 8.5. That is dumb and definitely -EV

i agree. hooks should only be bought at 1.5, 3.5, 7.5, or 10.5. thats just imo though.
