lot of potential "keep up" games tonight (where home dog of 4-10 points is likely to push pace from outset to keep up with better team). early leans: Bama/Dayton over 126 CSF/Utah over 138' Xavier/Butler over 127 Southern Miss/S Alabama 135 MTSU/UAB is right size dog, but many red flags on UAB offense/pace. VT/URI and Buffalo/Niagara fit the general criteria, but each have a couple of red flags, so dropping those too.

of the 7 potential "keep up" games, overs went 4-3. the three losses were:
- MTSU/UAB by half-point (and that was game with most red flags, so disqualified)
- UCF/Utah (crossed that one off once realized that Utah PG/best player suspended)
- So Miss/S Alabama (the one genuinely bad pick in the bunch in that there were no red flags against playing it)

i'm guessing that people like the under because of the line movement. i wish that i'd played it earlier, could've had 148 if i'd been paying proper attention. first, standard kenpom pace calc puts this around 147-148. second, Iowa really struggles to score against teams with a pulse (60 vs UNI, 55 vs Clemson, 59 vs Creighton), so they can't hope to win in a shoot-out with ISU - they'll have to slow it down some. third, and related to the last point, this is a rivalry game, so Iowa really doesn't want to get embarrassed - so they'll have to slow it down. i don't think that Iowa can score more than 60 or so tonight, i think that ISU is in the 70s, Iowa won't push tempo to avoid embarrassment, and there won't be any need for FTs down the stretch. i wouldn't be surprise if the 1H goes over, but i will be surprised if the game does.

you are correct that Iowa allowed 80 to UNI, but that game was really weird. i was on the 1H under, and that hit, then the 2H turned into a shitfest with a ton of Iowa fouls and a bunch of technicals. UNI scored 80 points on 44 FGA - that's just flat-out bizarre.

yep. i didn't watch the 2H as closely as i should've since my play was on the 1H under and i got stuck watching Beach/KU, but i caught a fair amount and that game was really odd. i'm glad that their next game is a rivalry game with a really high total, just wish i'd booked it earlier at 148.
