Ok its February guys and its time to start getting ready for March Madness. I personally think this might be one of the wildest years of March Madness..... So last year is gonna be nearly impossible to top that was a historical year. And yes I still will put stock into Butler making into the NCAA just because its Butler lmao. Do I think they will win the Horizion Bid? Nah not really will anyone in the country be surprised if they win the Horizion automatic bid? Nope because its Butler lol.
So ok ESPN is talking up Weber St pretty quietly with Damian Lilliard the nations leading Scorer at nearly 25 points a game. Ive seen him play twice. And he is a flash with the ball. This kid will play Professional Basketball and a lot of experts are comparing him to Norris Cole who was a great player to watch play for Cleveland St. Im pretty sure he will get picked up in the NBA. With players like Stephen Curry from Davidson, Norris Cole from Cleveland St, Gordon Hayward from Butler, the scouts are pretty solid at spotting the talent from the non power six conferences nowadays. Problem though Weber St is in the Big Sky so they will get a shit seed in the tourney. If they get a 14 Seed that is a blessing, I'm still expecting a 15 seed no way they are a 16 seed though. If they do get lucky with a 14 seed they have an outside chance of beating a Georgetown,Michigan,West Virginia, or a Wisconsin team. Don't haze me when I say that but they do truly have an chance of pulling one of those upsets. Lets face it stars are born in March and NBA stock flys sky high through the roof. If Lilliard is able to pull off 2 wins in the NCAA he is going in the first round.
UNLV Is a team I penciled in at the #10 spot I think in my early preseason polls. I like this team, I think they have the right tools to make a run to the Final 4. Ill have them most likely winning the first round game but not exactly sure where this team is gonna end up seeding wise. Currently the #13 team in the country this team could end up with a #3 seed. A #2 seed would be pretty much out of the picture as they are not a Power Six team. A #5 seed is almost an insult though so I'm looking for a #3 to #4 seed.
Virginia Commonwealth yep I think they scrap into the NCAA tourney again this year. Right now they are in a 4 way tie for first in the CAA but I'm a believer they will win the CAA Automatic Bid. I don't think they will make it out of the first weekend though unless they get put in the play in game again this year. I do hope they make it into the tourney though because this could be a huge team to FADE in the first round and would be interesting to see who they drew in the first round. They would most likely have to fly to the other side of the country and play a MWC, WCC, or a Big 12 team
Middle Tennesee St.--- The thing I love about this team is they know how to drive the ******* ball to the paint. Something a lot teams don't no how to do. The looks on these guys faces when they lost to Vanderbilt was just pure hate. That team was fking pissed they lost to Vanderbilt. It was all over their faces at the end of the game. They new they were the better team. I can't pencil this team in for getting an invite to the tourney though. They will end up with a gaudy record but can easily be upset in the conference tourney. If their is a conference that is unpredictable in the Conference Tourney that isn't a POWER SIX and only receives 1 Bid 99% of the time its the Sun Belt Conference. I havnt really seen this team play that much basketball but in the Vanderbilt game I noticed this team sucks at shooting free throws. That doesn't add up to a win in the NCAA........
Saint Marys is apparently #16 in the country and they are the team I am not a believer in this year. Pretty rough to say that when they are 22-2 right now lol. This team will end up with a #4,#5,#6 seed all games that they can lose in the first round to a random low seed. I currently don't think St.Marys makes it out of the first round. I think they get upset, but hell if they make it to the FINAL 4 that would be cool as hell lol.
Harvard ---- Well I can almost guarantee they win the coach vs coach battle with who ever they draw in the first round, but I'm not sure that will be enough. What happens if Harvard ends up playing a Notre Dame, Seton Hall, Illinois , or a Virginia. ehhhhhh I really like Harvard but I don't no if they can win a first round game in the opening week. That loss to Fordham really gave me a lot of questions.
Stanford----- I think Stanford can creep into the NCAA this year and win a first round game.
Belmont will win the Conference Automatic Bid but lose in the first round again this year.
