Could anyone get a 2nd half line on McNeese? When they were down 14 at half thought the 2nd half would be a strong play but no line ever came out.

I didn't watch, but I just checked the Play by Play and see that McNeese didn't score a point in the last 2:55. 0-4 from the field. 2 missed FTs and they committed a technical foul, and only lost the cover by 3.5! Ouch.

Mcneese had the ball down 4 with 10 seconds left , they miss a wide open layup. They then foul the Lamar rebounder but some of the players on both teams continued to play after the whistle that led to a McNeese player tackling a Lamar player on the fast break. A flagrant was called to put Lamar on the line for free throws with 5 seconds left. If that flagrant didn’t happen the game would’ve most likely ended with Lamar winning by 4 because they were still 3 fouls away from the bonus with only a few seconds left. Painful

Oh man. That's even worse than what I could gather from the Play by Play, and that was pretty bad. Tough one. Teenagers can do some pretty crazy things at the end of a basketball game.

Strange thing just happened in Tulane game. Temple player gets fouled shooting a 3, he goes to the line, shoots the first 2 (makes one, misses one). Then the refs get together and call it a jump ball instead? The arrow goes to Tulane possession. The odd thing is they kept the one point from the FT make in Temple's score. This whole string of events doesn't make a ton of sense to me.

It’s possible they thought his foot was on the line or got word late as they adjust for that sometimes. Then after he missed the second and they had dead ball still they just followed the arrow? Idk that’s my only reasonable thought

Yeah that's probably correct, the part that they got word late. He did go to the line for 3 though. The fact that the point wasn't taken off probably means that it has to stay after a late decision / reversal of a call. That's my only thought, because I've never seen that situation before.

If they told them it was a 2 pointer but they took deadball after the second FT shot miss that should’ve been live, that would justify the jump ball.

Correct. Players thought it was three shots and didn’t react on the second free throw rebound; therefore, it warranted a jump ball. Poor communication by the officials to players. College refs are really poor with decisions in more ways than one. There are some solid ones but many don’t know left from right.

The line had moved down to 8/8.5 so at least those that got it early pushed. The start to the 2nd half was brutal.
