I know they are a very athletic team playing a Xavier team thats short handed and got their asses handed to them by Oral Roberts a few days ago. LA is relativelly close to Hawaii so maybe theyll have a bigger crowd following them then Xavier.

What's up BUCK, BEAN, AYO. Would love your opinion on my thoughts on this one game and your lean. Any feedback would be awesome on my analysis of the St. Marys/Baylor game.

I see Baylor undervalued. I think everyone is expecting a letdown from Baylor but I don't see it considering the situation and matchup that St. Marys is in. EVERYONE is overlooking the fact that St. Marys played the Dec 13, 15, 17, 19, 20 (b2b), and now only has one day of rest with travel to play ont he 22nd. We are talking a week and a half stretch with only one day of rest in the span, 6 games in 10 days. This is now their 3rd game in 4 days which is not really normal for college kids. And the tail end of all this is against their most fomidable opponent of the year, Baylor.

In my opinion, if a smaller school is going to beat Baylor it's going to be a school that can knock down the 3. St. Marys only shoots 33% (not even top 200) from 3 and they have yet to face a team that guards the 3 as good as Baylor. Despite Baylor being known for their size, they shoot the ball extremely well from 3 ranked 12th at 41.2%.

Lastly, the matchups. St. Marys best player is a 6'5 center Rob Jones. Not sure if I have ever even heard of a 6'5 center. Baylor has Perry Jones 6'11 235LB's, probably the best player in the nation. He should easily take him out of the game and severely outplay him. He has an entire 6 inches on him and is much more skilled. They also have Quincy Acy 6'7 235LB, coming in confident off a 24pt 6 rebound game. Or they can put Corey Jefferson 6'9 210lb. And they have freshmen study Quincy Miller 6'9 and another 6'10 foward Anthony Jones. All of these guys can do a great job covering Rob Jones.

St. Marys has another big Clint Steindl but he really isn't all that effective for a big shooting 43% this year and again he has this % against teams with not half as good big man defense as Baylor. Matthew Dellavedova is a good player for St. Marys but he's really the only guy that worries me and he isn't that big a threat 14ppg, kind of streaky too with 4 of his 10 games under double digit scoring. The 4th and 5th leading scorers on St. Marys are nothing special shooting 41% and 37%.

Baylor has a much better bench. Pierre Jackson is scoring double digits almost every night for Baylor off the bench. And I already mentioned all those bigs from Baylor with Jefferson and jones. Jones as gone for double figures in 5 of 10 games and Jefferson in 4 of his last 10. St. Marys is 3-11 their last 14 versus top 25 teams.

What do you think? Line literally just moved from -4 to -4.5 as I was writing this.

Aread1: its a no play for me because this game scares me. St. Marys can shoot it from deep. will Baylor play zone vs a good shooting team? Matchup problems? Too many questions plus its it Vegas. Baylor is the better team and initially I was confident as them as a play but im going with my gut and staying away.
