#25030Oakland wants to get out in transition and a team like Valpo can limit you there. However, if you look at the Valpo/GB game two weeks ago Crusaders got toasted by fast paced GB and that said transition D was nonexistent. Not sure if it was an anomaly but I’m having a hard time getting past it. Oakland has put together 4 wins in a row without Stevie Clark but those 4 wins come against the worst teams in the Horizon league. Revenge in mind for Valpo but this is an important game for both teams – a win for Valpo gives them a 3 game lead in conference play but a win for Oakland moves them 1 game behind Valpo with the tiebreaker becoming more meaningful. What’s Stevie Clark’s status tonight? He was dressed and warmed up vs. Detroit but did not play. He played an important role facilitating the offense last meeting so him playing would be key. Alec Peters’ play is obviously crucial tonight in order for Valpo to get the W against a good Oakland interior defense. With that said, Oakland will be challenged in the half court if they’re limited in transition against the Horizon’s best D. Both teams have had a week prep, “White Out” at O’rena , should be a great game.Comment -

Ark St is 10-0 at home, 14-7 ATS and coming off 2 straight road losses...Tex St on Monday cost me a big chunk of change.
On the flip side AR LR is 4-7 on the road and 7-14 ATS. They too are on a 2 game losing streak.
At first glance I see a DD win here for Ark St, leaving alone the fact that Ar St beat AR LR on the road by 5.
The only thing I hate is the line is absolutely plummeting. Already down 2 points from the opening while public is still on ST.
Line is razor sharp Ar St averaging in the high 70's on their home court and pretty abysmal on the road. AR LR averaging all over the map but see high 60's at best away from their floor.
I like Ar St by 10 or 11 here

No idea on this one. I like this young athletic Yale team and they played the Tigers tough in the first meeting but I’m not sure I can trust them tonight. Similar to the first matchup, I worry about Yale’s turnover issues vs. a good Princeton defense. Princeton also red-hot right now. GLComment -

#25035Hey guys, quick question for the more seasoned bettors in this thread..
What is the general rule of thumb when it comes to buying points? Tonights UCONN game for example I got them at -4 so I lost either way but I considered buying the point and then didnt. It seems as if every time I dont buy that point or half a point it falls on that exact number. Of course im sure its me just remembering those bad beats but Id still love to know what the rule of thumb is.
If you miss the spread by a point or two, do you just pass on that game altogether? Is there ever a case in which you buy that extra point or two? Ive always read that you never buy points in anything other than football but id love to hear what you guys think. Thanks in advance!
Meaning if a spread is at the .5 mark, I may buy it up or down to the whole number. That's because avoiding a loss (-110) is more valuable than gaining a win (+100). So the only time I'll ever buy the hook is for the chance to push and avoid the loss.Comment -

#25041Richmond got embarrassed by GMU earlier this week but I think they play with a chip on their shoulder tonight for this A10 rivalry game. Richmond has fared well vs. VCU in the past @ the Robins Center and have a bit of revenge from earlier this month. Richmond has good ball handlers to handle the pressure and Cline in the middle of the floor to beat the press. I’m obviously concerned about Richmond’s lack of size to protect the rim & limit VCU on the offensive glass though. Nice 4 game win streak by VCU since these two last played but some things to think about some of those wins:
-VCU wins @ Bonnies in OT after Bonnies buzzer beater and court storm from fans leads to bench technical
-VCU wins @ GW after GW last second go ahead 3 and then crazy foul to knock down 2 FTs with 0.4 seconds left to win
-VCU gives up 81 pts (2nd highest allowed pts all year) to St. Joes who played with no point guards and no bench to facilitate offense
It’s just been a bizarre (yet unnoticeable) stretch for VCU in my opinion and if the game vs. Joes wasn’t their letdown then I expect one coming soon. Could it be tonight? We’ll seeComment -
