Don't let Maryland's first game fool you. They will not be that up tempo this year. Seattle likes to play fast and the Terrapins just got caught up playing to their opponents pace. I know 181 points were scored but a lot of things other then pace had a lot to do with that. Both teams turned it over a combined 56 times leading to some easy breaks the other way and some easy buckets. 51 fouls were committed and Maryland shot 41 free throws. I don't think we can expect those things to repeat themselves. Look for Maryland to tighten things up an run an actual offense rather then a push it up the floor street ball game. Charleston has a habit of not being able to do much when going up against schools from big conferences. Clemson held them to 55 points and Tennessee beat up on them pretty much all game. The only team they turned in a decent effort against was North Carolina during their stretch last year where they seemed completely lost. I expect MD to hop out to a nice lead early on and I think this is a 85-64 type of game.

Louisiana Tech lost three senior starters last year. For a team who just won it's first post season game since 2002, that is a huge deal and in the WAC it is going to drop them way down the rankings. In the off-season Rick Barnes chalked Texas' losses up to a lack of team chemistry. That seems to be fixed and Texas looked pretty good against a bad Navy team. Having Balbay back is huge. He won't put up stats and he can't shoot but the guy knows how to run an offense and is quick up and down the floor. Wow is all I can say. Portland is coming off of a real solid year but I don't see that repeating itself. They lost there three most productive players and the questions still remain as to whether the replacements can pick up the slack. It looks like they will have some trouble in the paint as well which means a lot of their games are going to have to be won with guard play. However, WM really should do some damage in that area. Tim Boyle is returning after missing last year with a back injury. He is a welcome addition after being an All-Horizon player in 08-09. They also bring back Anthony Hill and Ryan Haggerty. Aside from that the player I am most excited about is Ja'Rob Mcallum who was Freshman of the Yea last year. I think Wisc Milw is the better team and I don't see why the books are willing to give that many points to this team. Is there a line on Ohio St vs. North Carolina A&T? Last season OSU opened the season at home vs. Alcorn St. and won by 40, so I have a feeling this team full of athletes and scorers are going to win a few of these by 50+.Comment -

Love this Duke play. You know what happens when outmatched teams go into Cameron. Duke buckles down on defense and runs begin to happen, the crowd begins to get loud, and the player begin to feel it. Princeton didn't impress me against Rutgers at all.Comment -
