coolguy, I don't use a system. I cap the matches from a basketball perspective. The home court advantage is, yes, among the factors I consider, although the strength of that advantage does vary among teams. It takes me less time to do this now, than it did earlier in the year, as I have committed to memory certain characteristics. The home court advantage strength does often disallow a bet, like taking me off a road team, but although bookmakers assign a number to it, I tend to think in terms of it being more valuable rather than less valuable, so that a road team must have an advantage on court play style or injuries that is quite significant. For example, if you look at Lafayette, High Point and Binghampton wins last night, those I took the ML also, and I also parlayed the whole ticket.

The advantages I saw in those clubs were based on internal game stats that increased the likelihood of a contrast in style of play that created inroads for the club to exploit.

Disappointing. Both had substantial leads for the whole game and blew it at the end. The home court advantage in the closing minutes was worth double digits in these cases. I didn't know the games would both be broadcast on ESPNU, perhaps that was a factor to get a lot of students in the stands for teams that otherwise did not have impressive home records.

Tough loss with the double overtime at George Mason. I have no idea what happened to VCU? On their home court to lose by 30 to Dayton is more than problematic. It is a collapse. What was odd about last night also is my quick picks, based on memory and first line impression went 8 of 10, but these where I dug deeper in the stats didn't work out as well.

I actually had a funny feeling that Purdue would have a let down road game, and that Michigan was looking ahead to facing them, but I took Purdue anyway, to give them a chance to display domination, if they are on a level higher than a team like Michigan. One may argue that they either are not, or just were not last night. Still, it's games like this that we remember once the tournament starts. It was also disappointing to see Oregon cough up a big lead, get it back late but then wind out the clock instead of taking the basket for a cover, but that is par for the course. Still, losing a bet like that when you hesitated to lay the -8.5 hook is aggravating. Some very tight wins and losses, but also some funny blowouts especially considering those are halfs. Remember my Won by Lost by numbers are ATS not basic score. Tonight, the first bet I picked was Northern Kentucky, but the line has grown. I don't want to chase, especially a road team. They will probably win by DD, but my taste for laying anything over 6 has always been cautious. Ditto Iona.
