Trainers will not adjust mainly because they did not know from day one how long this might go on for. So the vast majority of trainers did what they would normally do, meaning, their stats on fresh horses will come into play in all probability.

As for riders that have sat out for the past 4-8 weeks, the speed riders will be better suited because the clock in the head never really stops ticking once you have it . But, the riders that have a penchant to close, those that really try and make runs from well back, it will probably take them a week or so to really get all the timing back where it was. That is not to say they can't win , but enough will mistime their move ever so slightly for the 1st several days that it will be well worth noting.

As for the horses themselves, if they have shown that they run well off a short break, they will do so. Those that don't especially the heavy colts, will likely, as a group, need one.

This is a perfect time to lean on the history of the trainers, the preferred riding styles of the riders and the pp's of the horses as to running fresh or being better suited next out. Following all 3 pattern types should be beneficial to the player.
