#21388Let me just say I hate the sequence, and its a mess, but its mandatory and huge pool, so I could bite.
Gulfstream Pick 6
Race 6
Seems rather straight forward, #3 Bareeqa (9/5) , is a new york war horse that has done nothing but win since coming down. Hector is riding #5 Scatnap (7/2) , 10 lifetime wins, impossible to ignore. #7 Codrington (10/1) , has let me down too many times in the past. #4 Britesideoftheroad (9/2) , seems to be on up swing and I mentioned last week how Dylan has figured it out down here. #10 Lookinlikeaqueen (6/1) , has done well on the turf, 1st off claim, idk… I think you either single, use the 3,5 or go deep, Im not interested in the latter. #8 Katieleigh (20/1) , I honestly might use cuz of my nieces name to find a price.
Might be Singling the 3
Race 7
Another ugly race, Chalk city imo… #4 Brookes All Mine (2/1) , looms a forced single in this sequence. #2 Tiz Possible Dear (5/2) , makes some sense but are you kidding me at 5/2? This is terrible race… and I believe both will be cut in half at post time, #9 Put Position (6/1) , I guess fits and will be a "wise guy play" ….
Might be singling the 4
Race 8
Ok We have a race to talk about it. #1 Kid Mercury (10/1) , Was pumped from the training works for Mr. Motion off the layoff since halloween time. was drawn outside at this level for a furlong longer. Victor can perform on these types, but the lack of speed from the rail shortening up, forces me to leave underneath. Im just writing on this one, because I think next out, with a more formidable draw (assuming class relief) is one to watch. If this was mile and eighth, I’d be more enticed. #2 Letmeno (9/2) , Draw a line through the G2 Tampa bay derby, and fits here, But Im discouraged my the fact, Wilkes guy Landeros , chooses another… Pass as the turf attempt here, feels desperate. #3 Aficionado (15/1) , appears to be hidden at first glance, but simply may not be able to compete with these. Why go to the dirt returning off the layoff after the previous turf efforts, Feels like either a prep or confusion. I suppose Mr. Pletcher was disappointed with the aggressiveness of send rider Jaramillo in the last effort and switches to Zayas today on #4 Mystic Lancelot (7/2) , I guess he wants to rate, but not much face in this field. How do you toss the other Pletcher, #5 No Word (3/1) , Clear Class of the field. Ran only 2.5 lengths behind Structor in the G3 Pilgrim, under a hell of ride by Jose. Is it a positive that they are shortening up off the bench? #7 Hombrazo (12/1) , Can hector get brave on the lead here? Does this horse even want the lawn? #8 Patrol (6/1) , Is definitely not going to be this price. Casse seems have this 3 year son of Liam’s Map ready to try winners. Im going to out on the limb here and say the #9 Pleasecallmeback (15/1) Wires this field. Great speed rider takes over for awful Rajiv, in this 2nd off 5 month layoff try. 3 year old gelding hasn’t made the lead yet, but canadian shipper has faced tougher, including Decorated invader a few times… only 5.5 lengths with rajiv isn’t terrible. South Bend, Get Smokin, also in that race. On that same note , I have to include the #11 Street Ready (15/1) , coming outta the same race but remember my top choice has more reason to improve than this one , as my hard spun gelding is now in the 2nd off layoff attempt , which this more than ready colt was in the last. Ian employs #1 pilot. #12 Life On Top (15/1) , Gets slight upgrade in pilot seat getting rid of rajiv, but not much pace to run into. I’ll look more into the AE’s if they draw in, because both listed riders are already entered, and that’s; always a curious disposition.
If they Don’t Draw in… I could see myself using 3,4,5,8,9,11 And Maybe even reluctantly the 1… But Very interested in a win bet on the #9 Pleasecallmeback.
Race 9
Anybody Can win
Possibly using: 2,3,7,8
Race 10
#1 Pakhet (12/1) , 4 year old filly just hasn’t ben able to settle anywhere. NY to Kentucky to Cali to Florida. 3 different barns, 5th different pilot. Totes some back class and at the lowest level to date, like many in here. Casse’s other #3 All Quality (6/1) , gets a more aggressive pilot for 2nd off the very long layoff try. #4 Seranitsa (9/2) , Makes all kind of sense, and I would love to back , but the worst jockey in the entire world gets the call. and I refuse to back this pilot. #5 No Way Jose (15/1) , wouldn’t shock me 3rd try in the states. CC inherited #6 Cariba (7/2) , from Kiaran, and hasn’t showed anything in the mornings, how is this horse $9 a ticket. Id much prefer Mr. Walsh other #7 Temple City Terror (12/1) , made up ground into slow fractions, but wish Tyler was riding. Todd Pletcher employs Luca to ride the most obvious of choices in #8 Bering Strait (4/1) , I have nothing again Panici , except he can get too quick on the front end. and stretching out , that worries me in this field. Im going to go ahead and make #9 Believe Indeed (12/1) , my top pick. I mean 7 year old mare always brings it and prefers the lawn, at least some consistency here, albeit vs weaker. MAV a good upset rider for Mr. Walder.
Potentially using: 4,5,6,7,8,9 , I do indeed have to use terrible Nik Juarez
Race 11
Mr. Henning has done some fine work in the mornings w/ #5 First in Command (8/1) , Looking back they debuted on the lawn being a daughter of War Front, and comes outta some good races. Hector may send early at a nice price. How do you ignore #12 Sundae Smile (12/1) , especially on this sunday Mandatory Day. Mr. Arnold should have this one taking a step forward in this 2nd off the layoff try since debuting in Louisville for 95k and Running 3rd to Taraz. I like the aggressiveness of Mrs. Dobles moving her 3 year old filly #6 Better With Age (10/1) , up in class after a near miss, and keeping her protected. Hard to knock Mr. McPeek’s filly #4 Renata (7/2) , Paco just missed honest fractions on debut, and Dylan takes over. Mr. Wilkes / Landeros have a horse that will play a factor, but be over bet, could win in the #2 Let Them Eat Cake (9/2) , but i prefer others. Along w/ #10 Makisupa (8/1) , same thought process.

#21391Just a couple thoughts on a few horses that LKid either didn’t mention or wasn’t as high on in his excellent write up.
Race 6...if you decide to go deep here, may want to look at #11 Flashing Diamond 15-1. Has the speed to make the lead from outside and trying turf for the first time for a trainer with good stats dirt to turf.
Race 7...#9 Put Position gets back to the dirt where he is 7 for 11, after 2 turf tries. Gets good post outside #4 Brookes All Mine. Looks like a 2 horse race.
Race 8...toughest race in the sequence in my opinion. Really only a couple you can’t make a case for. #2 Letmeno 9-2 faced Dennis’ Moment, Gouverneur Morris and King Guillermo in his last 3 and now tries turf for 1st time. Bred to handle the switch. #7 Hombrazo 12-1 ran 4th in a stakes last year, 6 lengths behind #9 Pleasecallmeback in his 1st try on turf. He than ran 3rd in an off the turf race before going to sidelines for 5 months. Returned in February and won an off the turf race to start his 3 year old season. Now he is in a new barn, with a hot trainer and if he gets a chance on turf, I like him at a price. Have to go deep in this race though.
Race 9...if #7 Blakey 6-1 breaks well, he could get an easy lead and wire this group. If not, what LKid said.
Race 10...#10 Heir of Light 20-1 ran 3rd behind Wasabi Girl in her debut before breaking her maiden at Churchill. After a disappointing try in the G1 Alcibiades at Keeneland, she caught a sloppy track in her next race before taking a 3 month layoff. She returned 3 weeks ago in a turf stakes race where she stalked the pace before fading in stretch in a race won by Highland Glory. Shows a solid work on the turf since that race and should move forward 2nd off lay-off.
Race 11...#1 Follow the Flag 20-1, didn’t show much first time out when breaking from far outside post. That race has produced a couple of next out winners, and with the inside post and addition of Lasix and blinkers, this one is intriguing in 2nd start. Saez picks up the mount. Also like #10 Makisupa to take a big step forward in 2nd start.Comment -

Gulf r1
I think this #16 Victory Crusade (10-1) Has a chance in the opener, MTO gets this 3 year old filly and get the perfect rider to handle the outside post position, that is slid in 4 spots due to scratches. The Work Tab is Lights out, And I realize Klesaris only hits 5% with firsters , but this filly feels like speed all the way, in a weak field and only needs to hang out for 5/8's

#21419Just a couple thoughts on a few horses that LKid either didn’t mention or wasn’t as high on in his excellent write up.
That race has produced a couple of next out winners, and with the inside post and addition of Lasix and blinkers, this one is intriguing in 2nd start. Saez picks up the mount.
