Gonzaga +3 -120 (2x)
Love Gonzaga and the flexibility they bring to the offensive end of the floor. They can score anyway you can imagine and in my opinion Pangos-Stockton-Bell-Dower-Karnowski is as good a 5 as any in the country. They don't turn it over much which could create issues for an Oklahoma St team that thrives off easy buckets and sometimes will settle for bad 3's when they can't get out and run. You can point to Marcus Smart suspension all you want but even before that the slide started. That was just the tipping for the frustration of an over hyped team. They lost 4 of 5 before Smarts suspension and have struggled away from their home floor. This should be a fun game but I like Gonzaga getting some points.

The Sooners are one of the best three point shooting teams in the country. They shoot the rock early and often and make a great deal of them. North Dakota St is a very similar team that likes to get up and down the floor but relies more on easy buckets. The issue? ND St is one of the worst teams in the country defending the 3 ball which could make it a long day for the Bison. Oklahoma is also going to kill the Bison on the glass. The Sooners rank top 50 while the Bison are all the way around 280th in the country. Given a different match-up ND St could have made some noise but not in this one.

The San Diego State Aztecs have a massive monkey on their back when it comes to the NCAA Tourney. They seem to be in the same position every year and end up in the same position at the end of every tournament game, walking off the court, head down, fans scratching their heads. Here is why this is bad news for SD St. They like to own the paint, they like to impose their will and they aren't going to own the paint against one of the largest teams in the country. They block shots behind 7-3 Sim Bhullar and 6-10 Nephawe whose first name I won't attempt to spell. Due to their size they get to the line a ton and if things get tough for San Diego St their 207th 3 point percentage won't bode well. Not to mention San Diego State isn't exactly in the business of blowing out teams in the first place. Look ML here,

Georgia st +6.5 vs clemson looks a bit high to Me. Clemson is phenomenal defensively but struggle to score resulting in very close game. Looking at Georgia st they're not bad them selfs on defense. Georgia st is 9-2 ATS in their last 11 road games.

Neither team has closed the season strong but Texas has had to make a living in the mine-field that was the Big 12 this year. If you look at their worst losses: BYU, @KSU, @OK St, @TTU...well the only bad one is @TTU and you can give them a break on that one. They own wins @UNC, vs ISU, vs KSU, @Baylor, and vs OK St. ASU beat the Pac 12 four tournament teams but all at home. They played a buttercup non-conference schedule and bad losses vs Wash, @Utah, and @Oregon St. The edge here for ASU comes from behind the 3pt line where they have shot 28th best in the country while Texas remains incompetent behind the line. The silver lining for Texas is they know how terrible they shoot the ball and don't attempt many long-balls. The numbers suggest Texas can make up for that point differential at the free throw line, which they get to at a higher rate than ASU and on the offensive glass where they rank 7th in the nation crashing the offensive glass. ASU is 125th in overall rebounding to Texas 4th, barring a red hot shooting night from ASU who seem to play uninspired after falling behind Texas should get the job done.

I agree. Also the fact that ASU is terrible away from home or on neutral court. They went 1-3 or 1-4 in the last stretch all away from home.

For as many head scratching losses UNC has had they have a huge win to counter. Who else can say they beat Louisville, Michigan St, Kentucky, and Duke? Outside of Paige and sometimes McDonald this team is abysmal from behind the arc and it has cost them in games (vs Cuse). They went on an absolute tear after a January 20 loss against Virginia and closed the season losing @ Duke and nearly rallying back from a 3:30 17 point deficit against Pittsburgh. They are big and athletic and absolutely smash the glass. McAdoo has done better this year staying on the floor which was something of a season long headache last year for Roy Williams. Providence is the recent darlings of the Big East* tournament. The asterisk is warranted as this Big East has much less of a selection of good teams outside of Creighton and Villanova and an Xavier team that is middle of the road. They went 3-4 in those games. Add in losses @ Umass, vs UK, and they stand at 3-6 in against tournament teams. 2-1 against Creighton is impressive but this is a different animal. This is the NCAA Tournament and that Tarheel blue jersey staring at you that these kids grew up idolizing. How will Providence handle themselves? They have a number of head scratching losses when you consider how well they have played behind Bryce Cotton this year. This team isn't as great of a 3pt team as most would think and I don't think they can win a battle in the paint with McAdoo and UNC.

Loving this pick more and more. UNC is the type of team Providence struggles with. Provy relies on their speed and athleticism which is great against the white boys of Creighton but UNC can match them at every spot.
