Haven't been on here in a while. A lot of old faces and tons of new ones. Some of my best streaks in my gambling career have come while actively posting on this board. Why? I'm not sure. Maybe it is the feeling of accountability with my bet sizing? Maybe it is that I have my thoughts and plays well documented? Ah, who am I kidding no one cares. Follow, tail, ignore, fade, or whatever you like. I love some good banter but I have been making some uncharacteristic mistakes of late and maybe being back here is the solution. Not to mention tearing my ACL and being on disability has really freed up my schedule.
Kentucky +6 (2x)
John Calipari is doing it again. Another young team seems to be playing their best basketball of the year at the right time. Seriously, have we seen this team play a more complete game pair of games back to back all year? They took punch after punch from Georgia on Saturday but every time a big play was needed they seemed to pull through. In the LSU game on Friday they found themselves in a early hole against an emotional team and just as quick as that hole was dug Kentucky seemed to suck the life out of the Tigers. They crushed the glass against two of the better rebounding teams in the country (LSU 10th, Georgia 45th) which is to be expected as they rank top 5 nationally. But a +31 combined in the board margin shows me just how bad this team wants it. They have flown under the radar all year despite being one of the more talented rosters in the nation. Sure Florida beat them twice already and is undoubtedly the best team from start to finish this year. But look at those two games. On the road Kentucky suffered from a 60% shooting night from Florida and a scorching start that gave them a 20 point first half lead they could never recover from. In the first meeting after trading runs back and forth the Wildcats held the lead for the first 15 minutes of the 2nd half before only managing four points in the last six minutes.
Florida looked very vulnerable in Saturdays game against Tennessee. A game where the offense looked very uninspired and they got beat on the glass by 7 boards. They also struggled mightily to sustain any form of momentum in the first half of Fridays contest against Mizzou. It just feels like this is at worst a very close game for Kentucky. They can win the rebounding battle and if Florida continues to not be able to find someone to take over the game this Kentucky team has too much talent for them to coast by. I think points also should be at a premium making this 6 point number look a little inflated. Think Kentucky scores the upset here playing inspired ball as Cal tries to get his guys going into the NCAA Tournament. Kentucky 61 Florida 56
Most likely will also be playing the money line here. As always best of luck to all.
