West Coast Conference Tournament Futures
It's rarely not been the Gonzaga Invitational in this tournament as the Zags take the top seed here again. They have at minimum made the Championship Game 16 straight years. That makes them a must look for Futures, even @ -120. 2nd place went to BYU who actually tied with a 13-5 mark with San Francisco, but gets the 2nd seed by defeating the Dons twice. SF for their good record, could not beat the top two clubs. They lost all four meetings with BYU & Gonzaga. St.Mary's is a distant 4th, crushed by Gonzaga in both meetings. Most agree they have underachieved this season and they do have the talent to make some noise, but have lacked overall consistency and defense especially away from home. Gonzaga has a nice draw with Pacific or Santa Clara to open and then perhaps a third meeting with St.Mary's in the semis if the Gaels get past Pepperdine. It would be shocking to not see the Zags back in the Final again as a result. BYU will have Portland or Loyola Marymount and then either SF or San Diego. Both Portland and Loyola Marymount did hand BYU road losses this season, so that might be the tougher match-up in route to the Championship Game. BYU is trying to make an at-large bid case with a solid RPI & SOS, but they do have some bad losses this season that could keep them from making the field. I think they'd rather control their destiny and win this tournament to leave all the questions off the table on Selection Sunday. Gonzaga risking 1.2 units to win one. BYU risking 0.25 unit.I feel confident about Gonzaga here and you should have a chance to add more BYU if you choose as a hedge if they make the Championship game, albeit at a much lower price than this future.

Finally got one right on the futures. WCC playing out as expected with a couple anxious moments. Gonna stick with what I rode in on here. SO far, lost 2.00 units on the Big South & Patriot futures - so hopefully make some of that up if the Zags can pull it off tonight. Looking over the ones for this week for more possible futures. Big 12 is one I am keenly interested in.

Getting these early games in now and working through the rest of my potential plays for later. Next few days are one of the ultimate grind times of the year and a great test of will power. Hopefully, I will pass and keep avoiding the #actionplays

WCC was the only conference where futures worked out last week for me, so took a loss overall. Thought of playing more this week, but going to stick with just two I think. MAC is my first one that I am done looking over. Will post the other conference in a bit.

Toledo is as explosive an offensive as you will find in D1. Their issue will be defense as they rank 10th in the conference in FG percentage allowed. They are a solid rebounding team though with good FT shooting and excellent outside shooting as well. The format of this tournament also helps as the top two seeds need just two wins to claim the title. Toledo will wait to face Buffalo, E.Michigan or NIU. It won't be easy as both NIU & EMU beat Toledo on their home courts, while Buffalo lost by just two @ Toledo. Akron is the 4th seed and faces either Ohio or Miami first. They split the regular season series with both teams. The Zips though are MAC tournament royalty with seven straight Finals trips. Coach Keith Dambrot knows how to get the most out of his teams this time of year with the Zips making the NCAAs three times in that span. They drew the better side of the bracket for themselves as they would go through Western Michigan to make the Final. They only lost by three on the road to the Broncos in their lone regular season meeting. For the price, they are worth a half stakes investment. Toledo gets the full one unit investment.
