They play the absolute right way: the #1 rule of great hoops is to make your opponent's life miserable. Grew up a UNC but this Hoos team is one of my favorite teams of all-time. Salud, Hoos - you guys brought me and many others a ton of joy this season.

Woot! Never been huge Scott Wilbekin fan (generally b/c contra Gators as big fave), but love him right now. Cash UD/UF 1H over 61'. Smoke to that.

Reggie Miller is silly. UD strategy of burning clock worked for a time, but not good idea to pass on easy looks vs top three defense. Heavyweight fight metaphors notwithstanding, passing on easy look to get contested look late in shot clock no recipe for success vs Gators.

Lean Flyers 2H +2' but passing. Not pressing after lucktastic 1H over win.

I hear you on Sparty ML vs ATS, but i personally cannot truck that kind of juice. I think Sparty rips UConn's off today. When UConn has lost this year, it generally hasn't been close (5 of 8 losses by 9+; close losses were to Cincy, Stanford, Houston, which are hardly in class of Sparty in current form). Plus, elimination game FTs should stretch the lead out (unless, of course, Appling and his gimpy wrist are on the line).

It's easier for me to ignore idiots than it is for you to do so. I don't attract many because i'm pretty mediocre-to-bad and i'm really nonconfrontational on this site. Nobody bothers me because they know that i won't respond.

Note: not nonconfrontational in all venues. i was not nonconfrontational when i stole the lunch all night of a 6'8" dude who could dunk without trying in our hoops game Tuesday. He had three buckets on about 15-20 shots, i had three on four attempts (plus my usual half-dozen or so dimes); to be fair, my teammates did a great job helping me, biting at his ankles. Talked a bit and egged him on so bad that, with 1:30 left and us up by 30+, he got in my face, pulled his head back and headbutted me Koko B. Ware-style. Blood everywhere (though nose not broken; i've done that 7 times). Best part was, i simply turned and walked away. We have a former Yale defensive lineman on our team. He had big man against the wall and it took about 5 guys to get him off. Big man was white as a sheet. He also had his girlfriend and two-year-old son there to watch a 40 year-old white guy with a Big Ten offensive lineman knee brace own his 25 year-old lazy ass all night. Most fire the clown showed all night was on the head butt.

So stoked for bases. Not going to get too optimistic about the Tribe (last year: 30-17 in one-run games, 11 wins in final at-bat, no major injuries, Ubaldo pitching like an all-star), but can't wait for the season to start. Love the daily grind of bases season.

It would really serve them well to pound it inside to Dawson and Payne early 2H to bank some fouls against UConn. At least they got back to playing vintage Sparty defense after UConn's early run.

It was an ugly 2H, but give UConn all the credit. When Payne hit the jumper to make it 32-23, they could've easily mailed it in. Instead, they called timeout and went on a 12-0 run. Very impressive (unfortunately for my Sparty wager).
