Monday January 12 plays

I really like Louisville today...they did not play that great in beating Villanova...shot only 38% and only 12% on 3's but they won with their defense....holding Nova to under 40%, which they did vs S Florida as well. Defense is what fuels this team, and holding all road opps to 38% shooting overall. Home conf games are stressed as the games teams must win, so I like both Louisville and Oklahoma today. Blake Griffin...at home ....decent guard play...and a losing streak to Texas equals a highly motivated team that will get a couple extra calls at home. Texas also shoots only 41% on the road while Oklahoma over 48% at home, so IMO a couple calls and a couple extra shots fall for an Oklahoma win.

Pete ,are you looking at Bradley(lol) tommorow against woeful Indiana St. they have a few injuries including their leading scorer...funny but I still like Bradley -2 away with those injuries w/Indiana...any insight?

Pete ,are you looking at Bradley(lol) tommorow against woeful Indiana St. they have a few injuries including their leading scorer...funny but I still like Bradley -2 away with those injuries w/Indiana...any insight?

I'm leaning Bradley especially with Indiana St beating Illinois St last game and Bradley coming off of a loss...not sure if it's a play yet....

Bradley is 10-4 SU in its last 14 games against Indy State but have a 3-8 record in their last 11 @ Indy State. Indy State is 16-7 SU in its last 23 @ home. Last year Bradley lost @ Indy State by ten despite beating Indy State by 19 at home 2 weeks earlier. In Indy State's last 3 home games they were only down 4 with 9 to go against Creighton, they were up 10 at the half against Evansville, and they beat Ill. State saturday despite being 9 point dogs.

Glad to see you hopped on Tenn -6. I'll be at this game, and I can tell you, Tennessee LOVES to beat UK at basketball (back from UK's golden years where they killed us almost every game). And we love our home games... I see us winning by at least 8-10. Tyler Smith was on crutches last Friday, then led UT to a huge comeback on Saturday at Georgia. Look for him and Wayne Chism to have big games.

Plays for Thursday....a few write ups

Purdue -4....I like Purdue, back to near full strength and 1-2 in conf play, Purdue needs this win, while NW has consistantly struggled in conf play, going only 3-34 since the beginning of 06-07...have lost 12 straight home conf games...4 straight to Purdue....and lost both games by an average of 20 pts.

Arizona +12..I really like them to cover on the road at UCLA. They have the talent to hang here and UCLA is not the same. UCLA probably wins the game but definitely feel Arizona can stay within 10 pts. They got destroyed last year at Pauley Pavillion, so I would think a more focused better start will pace this game as this year Arizona has also already started poorly in their last two conf road games at Cal and Stanford.

Marist +8.5 Marist should be filled with huge confidence after dominating Niagara last game in their win. Sienna is now the conf leader without a conf loss, so Marist will be pumped to change that, getting 8.5 pts gives a nice cushion here at home.

USC +1....Arizona St may be the better team overall but this is a got spot for USC. Two dissapointing conf losses in a row vs Oregon St and UCLA for USC...I'd look for a better start and focused for 40 minutes instead of a few minutes here and and there.

UNC -14.5...After starting 0-2 on conf play and losing to Wake Forrest, this should be a good spot for UNC to take out all their frustration on Virginia and have a huge win.

Rhode Island +2...Playing Xavier in a home conf game will have URI up and ready for this one, especially after starting 0-1 in conf play with that dissappointing loss to St Joe's. They will have to be on their game with their up tempo style they use to basically out score opps to win. At home here I think they can pull that off.
